Depending on the style of the bus, some school buses have the engine in the back of the bus, so the front flat with nothing in front below the windshield

The issue of seat belts does vary from state to state. In the event they have to evacuate the bus in an emergency such as a fire or crash, it would took longer to get off because they would unbuckle there seat belt.

School bus drivers do not activate the warning lights when approaching train tracks, the stop sign would come out when they opened the door if they did so (you definitely don't want to stop cars while they're crossing the tracks), instead they activate the hazard lights.

The black lines could be used for that. But The reason is so if the bus rolls over the people that need to cut open the bus knows where the botton of the bus is, where the sholders are, and where the chest is.

The seat belts in Florida are not required and are only present on new models. Some busses only have seat belts on half of the seats, too.

Actually, here in Pennsylvania when a Bus is Making an Intersection stop at a 4-Way they can put out in the intersection a little bit because drivers are not aware that they have to stop at intersections too so it's the only way to get the attention of the drivers. That is one advantage of a Crossing Arm.
