I can't tell you how much I appreciate this video. I'm 67 years old and I know nothing about crocheting. I have been looking all over KZbin for a tutorial by someone who doesn't teach at 300 miles per hour. I have been beyond frustrated. All of the tutorials seem to assume that we know the stitches but I do not so your video was really helpful. I wrote everything down and now I have step by step instructions. Thank you so much!!

You should learn all the basic stitches n practice them for about 20 rows each stitche n know the abbreviation for each stitche with a big hook like j or k n a lite colored yarn like orange .. yellow..lite pink or lite blue so u can see ur stitches n where to put the hook next..go to absolutely beginners crocheting.. Atreyu..TLCraft yarn..Bag O Day.. Creative Grandma..all r awesome teachers...watch first n then follow along❤

I’ve really started learning how to crotchet and I’ve been wanting to make granny squares with the smaller rolls of yarn I have. This is by far one of the easiest tutorials. I managed to make it perfectly! P.S. for those struggling to understand what’s happening or feel it may be too fast, change the speed so it’s slower. I had to do that the first time I made it and it helped a lot:)

I've watched COUNTLESS videos on how to crochet a simple granny square for absolute beginners who have never held a crochet hook and I just could not for the life of me grasp the concept. I kept seeing comments under their videos saying that it was the video that clicked for them and they could finally do it but it just wasn't happening for me. It was so bloody frustrating. In saying that, after watching your video I can FINALLY say that I actually DID IT!!! This was that video for me. I couldn't thank you enough! I'm a new mum to a 10 month old baby and have been looking for something to do in my spare time to keep my hands and mind busy and away from my phone. Granted I've watched this video at least 28 times - not even all the way through as I haven't actually finished my granny square but it's coming along SO BEAUTIFULLY and I've gotten to the stage where I can do it without watching the video 😍 I can't wait to crochet more things!! I have watched numerous tutorials on how to make basic granny squares. I have tried so many and just got so frustrated because they were going to fast or they used odd yard that made it hard to see what hole they are looping. I literally made my first granny square FIRST attempt with your tutorial. I can't say thank you enough. I am making each one of my kids these for Christmas and wanted to start now while I'm off for summer vacation and have time off from teaching. I have done herington stich and love it. So now I can finally add granny squares too my crochet. I was so excited I video called hubby and couple friends who crochet showing them my first granny square..and it actually turned out really well. I changed the playback speed to x0.25, and repeated bits that i couldn't understand. It did take me a couple hours to finish watching the video, but at the end of it, now i memorized how to make granny squares! I highly suggest you change the playback speed too! (Btw its in the menu that pops up if you press the ⚙️ in the video😊)

There are a ton of tutorials that go EXTREMELY slow and would be much better for absolute beginners. I appreciate this one because I had already learned the basics of crocheting but still needed to learn the Granny square so this was perfect for that. I didn’t have to sit through a 45 minute video learning stuff I already knew. So yeah not the best for absolute beginners but still is a great video for curtain people
