Mam I think if you use the term in the definition part of Bigamy ' already married ' instead of ' legally married ' it's looks better bcz socially married is also included under this section....... Reason for why women are not allowed to marry during the lifetime of her husband in Islam is that it is believed that it is in the best interest of the children. In Islamic law, there is a strong emphasis on protecting the rights and well-being of children. Allowing a woman to remarry during her husband's lifetime could create confusion and uncertainty regarding the parentage and custody of her children. It can be confusing for the children to have multiple father figures and it could also lead to disputes over custody and financial support. This can be detrimental to the children's physical, emotional and mental well-being. Therefore, it is believed that it is best for the children that the mother remains with her current husband and focuses on raising her children, rather than remarrying.

Sir... I got married to a girl whose divorce was not clear. It was open discussion and we discussed everything on watsapp before marriage. Now I want to go for annulment since she abuses and fights with my mom. Can I file petition inspite of the fact that I knew about bigamy before marriage. What can be repercussions. Will judge ask me to pay maintenance or can they declare it as valid marriage
