@The Mandalorian when have you ever seen a Christian gunning people down? You do realize that most of the atrocities committed in the 20th century were done by atheists who believe in evolution, right? The foundation of Communism is BUILT on making people stop believing in God and has ALWAYS lead to millions of innocent people being murdered by Communist dictators. And it's not the "religious" people who fight to make and keep the ability to murder unwanted babies, which ALSO numbers in the millions, legal. This is documented historical fact, which will ALWAYS outweigh twisted wishful thinking. Don't forget that Jesus Himself stated that the two commandments that encompass the whole of the Bible are to love God and love others as yourself. Evolution is the belief that life is an accident with no real value. Did you know that there was actually a time, when Christianity was still prominent here, that people never even locked their car doors while leaving them unattended or locked the doors to their houses at night because the idea of people breaking into a vehicle to steal it or breaking into someone's home to rob and murder them was unthought of? Ask ANY elderly person! Can ANYONE verify that violent crime is done by Christians, or are the Crusades, which was done by CATHOLICISM, still all everyone has to point to as "proof" that religious people are violent? You could point to Islam. Of course, you run the risk of being called a bigoted racist Islamophobe if you do. Go figure THAT one. It is hard to believe people are really this stupid today. If it wasn't for KZbin response threads, I don't think I COULD believe it. But here you guys are, practically bragging about how stupid you are like it's a good thing. Please continue trying to tell people how good and moral atheists are. I guess the importance of actually having FACTS is a myth now. It certainly isn't reality. And we wonder why America is falling apart. Sorry to interrupt your ignorance parade. I'm not really expecting any kind of truthful responses from you. "Where's the church/state separation?" I'm not an advocate for state funding of one's business projects, religious or otherwise. However, I do believe it's important to understand that the philosophy of "separation of church and state", as it is understood and defended today, was not present with the political bodies and governments which composed the thirteen states that individually ratified the federal Constitution between 1787 and 1790. We know this by examining the original state constitutions, the majority of which had religious requirements for holding office. It was in Everson v. Board of Education in 1947 that Justice Hugo Black first applied the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights as binding on the states through the due process clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. This is the point at which the metaphor "wall of separation", a phrase penned by Thomas Jefferson in an 1802 letter to the Baptist Association of Danbury, Connecticut, began to be misinterpreted and misused. A read of the context of Jefferson's letters shows clearly that Jefferson is not advocating here for a religion-abstinent government. Rather, he is reassuring devoutly religious Baptist constituents that he is indeed a friend of religious liberty and is striking back at those who vilified him as being nonreligious. In Jefferson's letter, he assured the congregation that the federal government ("state" here being defined generally as government) could not interfere with their church or offer special favors to any particular sect. The misuse and legal enforcement of the phrase has been given its legal strength by way of incorporation through the 14th Amendment, an amendment which itself required the disenfranchising of the people of ten states of the American Union, and the annulment of their governments by congressional decree during the Reconstruction Acts of 1867 and 1868. "Separation of Church and State" therefore has no actual Constitutional foundation, though it is widely accepted by the majority of Americans today and upheld in the courts as a branch of the presumed conclusion of law being defined by 14th Amendment national citizenship.

"Coyotes, wolves, dingoes, and domestic dogs can generally interbreed. Thus, they can be "lumped" into the same kind. So Noah just needed two of the dog kind on the Ark." Con men, hustlers and thieves. Can’t feel too sorry for the victims, though. They have brains. They just don’t use them. Maybe they can’t. Constipated up to their eyebrows.

As a biologist who has encountered many creationists in my time I can say that there is a real reason this video is important, and why this young lady is critical. Superstitious creationists perpetuate their views by indoctrinating the minds of their children, and any other young people they can get their hands on. Education doesn't really help this. What's needed is deprogramming, or at least a competing message from someone that kids can identify with. Someone like Bailey. Good for you, Bailey. You go girl!

I realize I more than likely won’t get a response, but here goes nothing. The big question isn’t if Noahs Ark happened or not. The big question, is the Bible a credible source of our history? And if it isn’t what is? I can think of several examples that don’t prove the Bible is history, but at the same time disprove other methods of dating the age of the earth . Anyone wish to discuss? Bailey Stardust? If you don’t wish to have a thoughtful and adult discussion don’t bother commenting, on a side note I’m not online all the time so I may take a while to get back to you.
@Bailsharris5 жыл бұрын
Hello, Scott! Thank you for the note. I am not an expert on books such as the Bible, Book of Mormon, Dianetics, the Koran, or any of the many, many other religious books. I don't plan to spend much of my time learning about them other than understanding the significance to the people around me. I assume that there is some real history weaved in with all of the magical stories, but I don't think that it's very significant to my world today. I don't believe in magic. I love studying astronomy. I love learning about the history of Earth. I love learning about evolution. I completely love music. I play comp-level soccer. So, that's where I spend my time. I can respect that these books are very important to people that are born into families that have religious beliefs based on them. I assume that this might be the case if I had been born into a religious family. But to me, these old religious books don't have much significance to my life. I appreciate your time to ask the question, but I'm honestly not in a position to debate the topic. Thanks for watching the video!
@scottwilliams10785 жыл бұрын
Bailey Stardust then let’s leave “religious books” out of the equation. I can’t fault you for you beliefs in evolution, and I won’t be able to change your mind, but I may be able to give you something to ponder. If you have any doubt that your view of the age of the earth could possible be wrong, I’d appreciate a response on this thread. If you decide to respond I’ll get back to you as soon as I can. If not don’t reply. Thanks for responding to the first comment.
@stevenvanhulle72425 жыл бұрын
@@scottwilliams1078 When you say "beliefs in evolution", you just show that you don't understand science, or the scientific method. Science or scientific discovery is not something you "believe" in, it's an agreement that the research has been properly conducted according to standards which were set for this. So, when the research was done properly and following scientific principles, we accept the conclusions. Moreover, continued research will confirm earlier findings (like it has done for evolution, which is one of the most solid scientific theories in existence), and even successfully make predictions, which evolution has also done. Example: human DNA consists of 23 chromosome pairs, whereas the other great apes have 24. Evolution theory says that humans and the other great apes descended from a common ancestor. To explain the discrepancy it was conjectured that in humans 2 pairs must have fused, and indeed, research has shown that the human chromosome 2 is the result of the fusion of 2 chromosomes. A normal chromosome has 1 centromere, and telomeres at the ends. Chromosome 2 has 2 centromeres, and telomeres in the middle of the chromosome, where the fusion occurred. Prediction confirmed. These are facts, whether you believe in them or not. You believe in the bible, which you cannot prove to be factual. And no, you cannot use the bible to prove itself.
@scottwilliams10785 жыл бұрын
Steven Van Hulle thank you for a response however demeaning it may be. Just to clarify this is about the age of the earth, which influences how you view evolution hence beliefs. I’d like to know your thoughts on how scientists date the age of the earth? Carbon dating? Ice cores? If the universe is several billion years old, evolution probably had time, but if the universe is much younger evolution is completely impossible. Just to clarify I won’t be using the Bible to defend my beliefs on the age of the earth.

(Atheist here, just playing devil’s advocate) Well, in all fairness, saltwater is denser than freshwater, so it’s eminently possible that 8 km of rainwater would just sit atop the saltwater below, without mixing especially deep. (The line between waters of different salinity is called a halocline, by the way.) Additionally, in most places the rainwater would probably be slightly warmer than the deep saltwater, and warm liquid water is less dense than cold liquid water, reinforcing the stratification. So each fish could stay in the stratum of salinity that didn’t kill it, at worst by moving around the earth to a place where the stratum of needed salinity has the right temperature. Or maybe there just wasn’t actually a biblical flood. ;)
