This can save you on a rappel harness. It’s an old trick that helps to secure the buckle.

Or you cut the groves with a small file again deeper in the buckle, like they have been befor. 🤔 🤗

The straps on my dog's harness keeps slipping regularly making it unreliable and unsafe. The problem with my straps is that the end of each strap seems to be doubled over - obviously to stop the whole thing slipping out completely. The doubled ends of these straps make it twice the thickness and virtually impossible to pass it through back on itself. I've tried tapes etc with no success.

I’d have to see the strap. But, if the end is long enough. You could bring it back over the buckle and fix it by a small cut loop of inner tube or tape
