Securing Stucco with the Stucco Tie

How should we proceed with stucco on wood frames? Expansion anchors or drilling/screwing into a stud?

When using the Stucco-Tie on wood framed projects, there is typically a layer of wood sheathing behind the stucco. While hitting the studs would provide additional tensile capacity due to the deeper embedment, the helical tie is still able to connect to the wood sheathing, providing a mechanical connection between the stucco and the backup.
