I did security in UK and abroad since 1977 now retired (the odd weekend work as one of the managers at a night club). I am a qualified Highfields Door Supervisor / Static Security trainer (again retired). I always give the trainees the legal rights of anyone on the footpath or the road the right to film as they are in a public place. Added to this I tell the security that no manager of a shop, hotel or indeed a venue can instruct you to tell someone to stop filming on the path or road. Only obey instructions that you know to be lawful. Also for the main part be friendly. Do most of these new security, Door staff listen, well lets say the intelligent reasonable ones do. Much respect to this Security Officer, an absolute professional. It is all about being friendly and trying to get along with people, until there is no over choice but to act in another way!

My daughter went 1 week in hotel ..and her son ..she said she would never go bk ..ur better going abroad ..she paid £480...one week ..she could have got 2 wks abroad for that ....shocking blackpool is a dump now ....ripping the piss with prices to ..👍👍👍👍

You cant legally fly a drone here, its in the red zone of Blackpool airport. You can fly up near the tower though

I remember the pleasure Beach documentary series on ITV in the nineties. The way the bosses spoke to the staff was something else. The series is on here if you want a look at it mark.

I drove through Blackpool (not by choice) and I have never seen so many Polices officers and vehicles in one area. That clearly cannot be a good message to be sending to families.

Wow that fair was so bizzy years ago but they got greedy even charging £5 to walk around u bring 2 children under 7 years old and can’t go in unless u pay the £5

You can't pay £5 just to enter now, even if you're accompanying several people paying the full fee. Everyone who enters has to pay the full admission price.

Hi Mark I remember the Laughing Figure when you walked in near the pub that was full off Women of the Night as my Dad used to say and the old Fun house, and the Grand National Ride great days growing up and Holidaying in Blackpool, Used to Stay in a hotel called Bellavista but looking at it know Wow I'm so sad What are Blackpool Council Up to too let it get in that State.

Handcuffs aren’t illegal to carry, anyone can carry them it’s wether you use them lawfully when you do is the big end and be all

They have no more powers to use handcuffs than a member of the public. Security and members of the public only have legal excuse to detain a person if an indictable offense has been committed OR they strongly believe an indictable offense is about to be committed. That would permit the use of handcuffs. I think in the case of that security the show of handcuffs is as a deterrent and to some degree, to mislead the public into thinking they may be a new branch of the police if they have not seen before. Usually some security will carry cable ties to fashion a restraint.

Such a shame, it was rammed with people during 60-80s as I remember as a kid. Such a magical place. It’s a mere shadow of its former self. The White tower building is being converted to a Hotel I think. Plans have been put forward I think. Unless it’s rumours.

I was “the only person arrested” in the whole of Blackpool one Saturday night about 15 years back, they charged me 50 quid for the court calling to session 😂 the arrest warrant might still be out 😂

I would say she closed the gates ..because she made her money ..and she didn't care about the place ..her and her dodgy security ..👍👍👍👍👍she did alot of fraud...
