All security guards and police need constant training. That could have turned really nasty.

Mark, thank you for your timely reply to my question on " Security Guard Take Down."

Hey Mark do you think that Security guards are Police Officer's ?

Mark Just watched your video, "Security Guard Takedown." Another good video. Keep producing more videos, especially with street fighting situations too. Question on the initial takedown attempt, while you're securing your student"s arm to you. Notice for a moment, your student has his right hand/arm that's free. Could he possibly throw a punch to your face, etc in that split seconds????

Security Officer not a Security Guard there's a difference.

Thank you, I’m a security officer. When I worked in the prison I would get so pissed when they called us guards and even now I’m pissed. A guard has a fixed post and just watches something. I go hands on and have been attacked.

All the guard had to do was a straight arm bar. Grab wrist and back of eblow turn pushing on the eblow and twist down. The body will follow the direction of the eblow. Its basic joint manipulation. Also a leg in front to trip the guy as your doing your turn twist. Ive done a 100 takedowns while working security.

sad to say but this guy was my co-worker at the time. this is 10 dundas east in toronto

nothing sad about this. He held his own, every situation could be better. With these videos myself and my team only try to help educate in perspective. Security and law enforcement is a tough industry and we don’t wish any negativity, especially for those trying to protect others.

@@mcanastacio your work is appreciated but at 10 Dundas east. We were trained on how to complete takedowns in high pressure situations. And to top it off...we never handle a situation alone. We always call for backup for safety purposes before heading out to a situation. At this location we had 5 guards on the floor who could have easily assisted within seconds. There are strict procedures for mall security to follow and this looks bad on the company.

The individual being taken down was not the aggressor and the security did not address the individual properly to de-escalate. Get that right in your statement about this incident. Pretty much abuse of authority by the Security Guard.
