Sedge, bought this tool a few months ago and was one of the best investments I ever made. I have used the traditional method for sharpening a scraper and always had a hit or miss situation. With this tool, I sharpened every scraper I had, straight, convex, etc with amazing results. Zero learning curve. What’s great it puts a burr on both sides of the scraper at one time. I was able to get a “ scary sharp” scraper in under 2 minutes! Highly recommend.

I’ve never tried a cabinet scraper because the process of making a burr seemed difficult. I might try one now that this tool is available

Sedge since the Accu-Burr has the ability to put a different degree burr on your card scraper would you use one over another for different tasks? Such as would I want a higher or lower degree hook for doing fine clean up work vs. say removing paint or glue squeeze out?
@sedgetool Жыл бұрын
Doug... I just started using the Accuburr and I like the 15 degree for the more aggressive hook... but I will experiment with the 5 degree when I scrape lacquer in between coats to prep for next coat. I will be working on a video coming up to explain the uses of cabinet scrapers.
@dougschriefer3076 Жыл бұрын
@@sedgetool Can't wait to see the video. If you could possibly work into it the time and place you would want to use just a plane, vs. card scraper vs. sanding for a finish. As a hobbyist I never have enough experience to know which way is best.

I use a cabinet scraper to erase knife marks in my poly cutting boards before cutting paper templates or slicing up blue tape for projects-

What exactly is a cabinet scraper for?
@sedgetool Жыл бұрын
WOW...Great question... I have used a cabinet scraper over the years to scrape wood as my first grit of sandpaper...remove pencil marks ...scrape cured finish to denib in between coats of finish...... scrape dried glue .... scrape to check rough lumber at the lumber yard...hmmmmm ......this seems like it would be a great topic for a video...Thanks for asking...I hope this helps !!!!
