I love how they keep showing this antiquated brass propeller. Like that is what it uses as a form of thrust. Like always they are decades if not more ahead of what they show us.

It's a folding prop that has to sit in sea water for a long time without moving. It's only used to move it's location.. This is a buoyancy utilising sea glider that travels forward by ascending or diving .. the motors only get used to manoeuvre in tight situations eg a 180turn etc or to bring it back into its base. That's why it can sit for ages in the deep and not expend much energy... And the controls will probably be soft pneumatic or hydraulic valves ... Very limited EMF reliable mechanics . The same sort of system was developed for 🇬🇧ATG HAVs Skyships. ..to render them lighting proof given they are mostly composite and man made fibers...filled with inert helium. If you wanted something more sophisticated think biomimetic jelly fish pulse ... Squid and octopus squirt.. both systems are already being used on small boat tenders... Or DSROV 's to avoid prop fouling snagging and noise or damage to marine organisms. They just tend to be a bit less efficient at the moment Go back to the daddy of The Aqualung and mini subs ..Captain Jacque Cuestuo

We’re teaching it to be autonomous which means it will be equipped/updated with next gen AI. Apparently it will also be able to fuel itself independently using a system that exploits different levels of salinity filters through a membrane and/or using a separate „glider“ on a wire that uses differing temperatures. Thus it can fuel itself independently until it wears out. Great, so we have stealthy, ai guided, independently fueled killer subs which we will never find/detect if it chooses to. DARPA is also training the next generation fighter jet drones to be better then humans too… as well as land based equivalents. I marvel at our ingenuity and finding novel ways to introduce autonomous killing bots to the world and our conceit that we will be able to control them. Terminator feels less and less like a sci-fi movie… more and more like a documentary 🎉🎉
