See the Original Book of Mormon Manuscript

The Church Historian’s Press has released a new volume of the Joseph Smith Papers that includes color photographs and color-coded transcriptions of the Book of Mormon’s earliest manuscript. This is the first complete photographic record of what remains of the original manuscript.
The new book is called “The Joseph Smith Papers: Revelations and Translations, Volume 5: Original Manuscript of the Book of Mormon.” This is the final volume of the “Revelations and Translations” series. And it is the 23rd of 26 total volumes of the larger Joseph Smith Papers Project, which will be complete in the spring of 2023.

While I am shocked that these manuscripts were handed out as "souvenirs", I am grateful that they have been brought together again and that they can be shared with the World through technologies that we have been blessed with in these latter days. When they mentioned about gathering and piecing together the torn manuscripts of the Book of Mormon, I thought about the Gathering of Israel and helping to piece together Family lines and generations back to their original roots. This will be a wonderful addition to the Joseph Smith Papers, our Church's History, and for sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ with those around our sphere of influence. In addition, this will help us become as close as we can be to the physical record from the Gold Plates. What a wonderful opportunity! I am grateful for all those involved in this project and for Sister Miller's willingness to contribute to these Sacred and Historical texts. 😊❤🕊

I found God through the Book of Mormon and the Bible when I was 17. When the missionaries taught me for the first I had an overwhelming peaceful feeling come to me. About 4 years later in 2019, I was worthy to serve a mission during the COVID 19 pandemic. It wasn’t easy, but I can say I brought a family I love dearly to him.🙂

The missionaries spoke with me when I went back to them after being skeptical about it all. Now, I am here, preaching His truth everywhere I go. No one, not even the catholics can change my mind. Not even earthly admins and mods on discord servers can make me fear them. They have no true power. They are mortals. Soon to die. Their actions will be held accountable. The Holy Ghost has testified to me of these truths.

Royal Skousen was a graduate professor of mine and later a colleague. I stand in awe of the work Royal has done with the original and printer's manuscripts, along with his Book of Mormon critical texts work of the past three--plus decades. I was so pleased to see Royal shaking hands with President Nelson and to receive the Prophet's appreciation for Royal's work. Likewise, thank you to Larry H. and Gail Miller for their financial support of the mammoth undertaking of the Joseph Smith Papers Project. Larry H. Miller was all-in because of his love for the words in the hymn "Praise to the Man" which say, "Millions shall know Brother Joseph again." That was what Larry H. Miller wanted to help bring to fruition.

Wow, this is so phenomenal! The Book of Mormon is my favorite book of all time, and I always recommend it at book clubs, etc. I say that if I were stuck on an island with only one item / book that I could bring, it would be the Book of Mormon. It has profoundly changed my life & my family's life and improved everything about it. It has given me a deep and abiding knowledge of who I am, why I am here, and where I will go when I'm dead. It has helped me see true potential for myself and all of humanity, and it has given me purpose and a testimony of the love that our Savior Jesus Christ has for me and everyone else ever. Christ is the foundation, and the Book of Mormon is the supporting beams. So much sacrifice and dedication to make this book available to all (both from those in ancient times & in more modern times), it is truly a treasure so great no price could be enough!

I am able to listen to the whole book every day in an 8 hour period. I have been taught from on high by Gods spirit teaching my mind and testifying to my heart of its truthfulness. There is salvation in the word of God spoken by prophets of old. I will be ever indebted to my friend and former stake president who shared this recording with me.

I guess we often don't see today what will become history tomorrow. It is sad that some of the manuscript was lost but what we have left is wonderful :) I am very grateful for the Book of Mormon and am really enjoying studying in the Pearl of Great Price now! Wow, just wow. See the original,190+ year-old, hand written manuscript pages of The Book of Mormon, and the teamwork that brought our prophet, President Russell M. Nelson, Royal Skousen, leading BYU scholar on the original manuscript, restoration technologists, and sponsors Larry H. The Book of Mormon truly is the keystone of our religion and is a true witness of Jesus Christ. To leave or doubt this Church, one has to get around this book, which is not possible if you are honest with yourself. How did Joseph Smith get so many things right and how does one explain the Book of Mormon? The only logical and true answer is that Joseph Smith is a Prophet of God and was his instrument in restoring the Church of Christ to the earth in these latter days. I am so grateful for that knowledge and invite all to come and see for themselves.

I want to share my testimony of the Book of Mormon and restoration of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and of the prophet Joseph Smith. This book changed my life completely as I struggled with addiction for most of my life and fell away from the church in the process. As I started reading the Book of Mormon it helped me overcome my addiction and helped me in my conversion back into the gospel. I know that the prophet Joseph Smith was a true prophet and I’m very grateful for him and love him so much. I love my Savior Jesus Christ and testify that this is his church and know I have came to know the savior through the Book of Mormon. I know it’s true every bit of it is true. It is the word of God and those who diligently seek will find what they are looking for in this book
