7-8 thousand dollars?! That's outrageous! No one will ever pay that much for... Oh wait.

That's a beautiful restoration job. You did everything right; not many people know how to do such nice work, and unfortunately people who will take time to learn all the skills necessary are very hard to find. Some will never have the aptitude to do such work because it's not in their genes to do so no matter how much you try to educate them.

Being an orchard tractor I would guess that there was not much use for doing belt work. Saying that because it appears that the "muffler" would get in the way of a belt. Or did it just appear that way on the video?

I thot that too, the belt would have to run really true, NO back and forth across the pulley.

My guess would be you would unbolt the muffler and flip it? It seemed possible from what I can see in the video, but that is just a guess, my McCormick deering has to have the right headlight taken off for belt work, they all have little quirks

Charles Steele: Looking at it again you are probably correct. Probably good to plan on doing belt work before starting it up for the day.

I wonder if it would win a race at the ol'Ostrander GP Rally. The team of Regan and Tony

Deere started out by trying improvements to plow shares. Early success and distribution by mail order started the ball rolling and the company still supports the agricultural industry to this very day. The green and yellow was a nod to Iowa and her corn 🌽 production. American farmers, with out food, every thing grinds to a halt. As a boy I spent many hours at the helms of “D” , “ A”, and model 70 diesel John Deere’s plowing fields. Also a forty’s model Oliver Cletrac diesel crawler tractor. In those days it took a while to get over 100 acres. Now with these massive new tractors they can do it in a fraction of the time. Of coarse the cost of them was mind boggling by the thinking of the old days.
