Woo hoo 🎉 bring on your spring sowing and growing. We are in our hottest month August but hopefully September will be lovely yet cooler. I’m planning winter veg now. Happy sowing, Ali 🥵🌞🇨🇦

I don’t grow winter vegetables but I totally should. I think next winter for sure. Nothing beats home grown veggies

@@bloomsonthehill6207 I don’t grow lots as we have some super cold times (minus 14c last winter). But it’s fun to try and you have those fabulous greenhouses spaces 👍👍

Hi Amber, hope all goes well for the season ahead! Seeds are a lot of work initially, but a lot of fun reaping the harvest too! I love trying a new variety or 2 each season. I'm trying veronica , lupins and hopefully lisianthus ( if I get them to germinate), all for the first time. I love my good and tried performers, statice, cornflowers, strawflowers, sunflowers ,zinnia and the likes. .. .so I'm adventuring into these new ones for a challenge. And I too ,always have the challenge of where to fit them all in. Mainly because I like to keep good clearway between beds so I can spot snakes. If it wasn't for snakes, I'd plant really close and get heaps in!😊

I saw a bouquet made with white Veronica today on instagram with white echinacea, blue Scabiosa and feverfew (so all perennials!) it was lovely

Starting seeds lol it’s all that’s on my mind. Veggie seeds first then flowers. I’ve got a grow light and heat mat set up on my kitchen bench. I have a tiny little greenhouse/clearhouse, I don’t have the room for a walk in one. And also we have big gum trees behind our back fence so the branches would smash anything larger. I’ve got some tomatoes started exciting

Tomatoes are awesome to grow. Hopefully mine will actually ripen this year for a change! Good luck with yours!

Hi Amber, I thought iceland poppi3s prefer direct sowing. I'm cold stratifying astrantias, the Rose symphony and pure white. The seed tray has been sitting in a shadey place with a plastic bag over it. No growth yet, but they've definitely had a few months of near 0 degrees and the soil kept moist. I'm really hoping it works this time. Last time I put them in the fridge but nothing happened. Cross fingers and toes for me. Jo😊 Your cut garden has come a long way...well done!

Hi Jo, sounds like you have been busy too! I think Iceland poppies prefer to be directly sown but I have no luck with sowing tiny seeds direct. I’m starting to panic about my tiny seedlings being ready for the early November wedding I am doing 😬. we have some warmer days coming this weekend so fingers crossed 🤞🏻
