Thanks!in the US -western Washington. It’s wet here. I spent 23 years in the high (DRY) desert. I moved here 2 years ago. Then found your channel- starting ranunculus is the one I found you by. When you held up your vermiculite bucket in this video and I saw the algae/moss on it, I finally knew for sure our climates were similar! Love watching your videos.

Thanks Sarah. I found it’s really important to get the kit organised. I hate not having the right thing when I need it! Strip grow lights would easily attach to those wooden rods you have. Barrina lights from Amazon are cheap and effective. This will be my 4th year with them and they’ve made such a difference.

Those lights have been a GAME CHANGER for me. I have 2 shelves with the Barrina lights and two shelves with repurposed shop lights. The difference is dramatic. I’m going to switch them out as I’m able this year.

I watch other KZbin flower growers and here in the US sunflowers are wildly popular . So many different varieties. But I’m sure different parts of the world have different likes and dislikes in the flower industry. ❄️💚🙃

Hi Sarah, its a great idea to only grow what works for you & save yourself a fortune too. Great advice on what to put in the seed compost too. I tend to use a pencil for writing on my labels & never fades in the sun & they are made of wood, graphite & clay so, good for the environment. I do still have plastic labels & use pencils to write on them & useca rubber to remove the writing to use again. Lots of useful advice on sowimg. Thanks for sharing and take care 🙂

Great video Sarah. I agree with the sunflower decision... I find rudbeckia do the same' job' in the bouquet and I'm terrible with my secession sowing of sunnies. Rudbeckia all the way! 🌸

I used some worm castings( homemade) in the soil of my houseplants and boy are they going to town growing. I just repotted them, they were actively growing under my plant lights so I figured it would be alright. Anyway they LOVE the new soil. ❄️💚🙃

Hi Sarah. To the point as usual! I'm excited to see the results of this years seeding, even though we don't yet know what you are putting in! I've got itchy fingers too, but as we are moving house sometime, I can't get sowing for this year. Next year, most definitely.

This year I will be playing and experimenting with a little bit of all sorts just to see what I can grow. Thank you for sharing all your useful hints a tips. Can you remember what was in your first bouquet? Good luck for the upcoming season. x

Thanks Sarah, I love your videos. Will buy some bits from your links (pens, labels) also itching to get started. Really struggled with the soil blocks drying out last year. Any tips for keeping them watered in the catering trays. I followed ur advice with the take away trays but the seedlings got too tall and then dried out when I left them open!!!🤣

Hi Sarah I watched this video a few days ago and you suggested the little trays for soil blocking. I straight away asked my daughter to ordered them as I’m rubbish at stuff like that and they arrived on Wednesday there was only 1 tray in the box!! I presume everyone who watched your channel must’ve ordered them. We are returning it for a refund as they’ve sold out. Hope they all ordered through your link.

@bloomandgray

Sometimes you can put the flowers into a dark area with an open door to the light. The bugs will not like the darkness and move out to the light.

Hi Sarah, thank you for sharing so much information. One question I'd like to ask is what mixture are you using for soil blocking. I find a mixture of one part John Innes no1, one part vermiculite and three parts general purpose peat free. mixed with plenty of water. I've tried not using the JI1 and the blocks disintegrated, and I've tried ommiting the vermiculite and found the blocks didn't have enough air and caused damping off. I'd be interested to hear of your experiences. :)
