Take a small tube, like an empty pencil tube and with both hands hold it horizontally in front of you reaching as far as you can. It should have a big enough inner diameter so you can see a small object or point on the wall through it. Fix the position of that object directly in the center of the tube. Slowly, with both eyes open, move your hands and the tube towards your face at every time keeping the focused point of the wall at the center of the tube. Keep it in the center all the way until it barely touches your face. It should pinpoint the exact location of your vision center on your face, then just vertically transplant that point to the bottom of your chin and you've found the perfect position with which the centerline of your cue should be aligned. This worked for me and it fixed my misses to the side of the pocket on long shots. Keep safe.

You are a blessing! I knew I wasnt going crazy- I kept hitting the cue ball where I was thinking was the center but everytime it would hit the rail then come back at a slight angle. I an gonna buy the pro english trainer and see if it will help me. Thank you soooo much!!

Thank you for your comments. First, don't beat yourself up over being Left or Right eyed. The most important thing is to know that you know you can see true center on the cue ball. There is much to this and a simple comment can't cover it all. I'd hope you would get either a Pro English Trainer or consider one of my M1A1-XT (Extreme Trainer) practice cues. Look of, The M1A1-XT by The Drill Instructor. These are 2 of the best tools in the Billiard training arena.

The Drill Instructor so I adjust my site to compensate my dominant eye,spin/speed, deflection, I love this game! Rotation being my game of strength I've mastered it all except eye site compensation that mastered along with a low deflection cylinder tapered cue might be the answer.. Regards.

Zacher, I have found the use of standing a mirror across the table at the second diamond and then getting down on the cue ball for a shot. Without moving my head lift my eyes and see how my head may be tipped, tilted, turned, and if my D eye is over the shaft. You can also use large rubber bands to create crosshair lines for setting up once you find your proper position and height.

Great video! I have one dilemma about eye dominance, when I do this test described here (I'm right handed), put up my left hand and thumb and look through my right hand - I get that I'm left eye dominant. But when I do any other test like looking through the hole, created by the hands, in a distant object then closing one eye or the other to see what eye is dominant, or slowly moving the hand towards my face and see above what eye they end up - with both these tests I end up right eye dominant.

how do you know this is an aiming error rather than a cue delivery error?

I am a right side shooter but left eye dominant, how does this affect your aim?

Good point... good observation... being with you one-on-one would be the way to identify such an issue. Use of a mirror or line would help. The Winning Ball Aiming System has a way to determine if your cue is out of alignment. Don't laugh, but the object ball gives you the best answer; did it go where you intended it to go? Give the video a few views to be sure to catch many of the quick one word or single statement thoughts that could be missed the first time through. You're also welcome to call me to talk further. 407-927-1484. Thanks, Dominic The Drill Instructor
