I love how encouraging you are as you share your breakthroughs . It’s such an emotional experience to work for so long and finally have things come together!

I am at the beginning of my journey and I had a moment with my doctor where he had my bring my flat hand up to my nose and suddenly I saw both sides of my hand at the same time. I had a similar reaction with the emotion and my doc explained this is completely normal! Thanks for your videos. They prompted me to find someone who could help me.

That is so amazing! Some people talk about out-of-body experiences, but when those eyes start working together it's more of an in-the-body experience. How far along are you in therapy?

@@strabismustostereopsis7799 only a few weeks! It's early days. I did have 3D vision as a young child though.

Hey there, I just had my surgery to fix my lazy-eye and I have found your channel very helpful with keeping calm and seeing how the recovery process is. I was so worried getting it as I am 23 and just got the surgery this past monday. I am excited to see if my vision gets corrected enough to see stuff like 3D and be able to hsve true depth perception after so long. Especially as I have a daughter coming in January so being able to grow with her and learn these things and how they work, its exciting to me. I hope you have an amazing week!

It's amazing that you got through the first 30 years of your life with strabismus. That's impressive to me. I struggled with double vision and lack of depth perception so much that my family searched high and low for what was causing my clumsiness, inattentiveness, even delayed speech skills. They finally found an eye doctor who knew what to look for when I was five and prescribed vision exercises and distance vision glasses for me and worked with me for four years like a physical therapist to help me learn to move my eyes intentionally and consciously and to strengthen the muscles around my eyes that weren't strong enough to maintain that intended movement for more than a second or two at first. My eyes just sort of looked more or less straight ahead most of the time with the left one slightly out of whack with the right. I had to be trained to follow objects and to make that weaker left eye move inward enough to bring objects into 3D focus. I know what you mean by the sudden, unforgettable experience of seeing something more like everyone else seemed to be seeing. When I was about seven, I had been doing the exercises long enough that I was just beginning to see any results at all with the exercises. I was doing an exercise with the red and green 3D glasses and one of those sliding target things. I'd done it over and over again so many times with no results. Then, one day, I was sitting at the kitchen table trying to do it and all of a sudden, the smaller circle appeared to leap out off the slide at me and looked like it was in front of the larger circle. As long as I concentrated as hard as I could, so much that it made my eyes hurt and burn (like you said), I could see those circles appearing to float off the table at me. I was so surprised when I first saw it that I practically fell out of my chair from throwing my hand in the air and wooping for joy as if my favorite team had just scored a touchdown. It was so exciting! Like you said, I didn't see anything in 3D other than the eye exercises at first either and it became like a weird game to me, trying different ways to look at it while still seeing the 3D. When Cosmic Voyage was at the Imax theater in Denver, my family went to see it and I got to go too for the first time. I'd never bothered with getting a ticket to see a 3D movie before because up until then, I hadn't even seen anything in 3D that was sitting still, let along moving. However, I was doing well enough with the exercises now that we decided to try it. I could only do it for a moment at a time without my eyes hurting too much, but I do remember seeing parts of it in 3D like the buildings in Venis, Italy and the raindrop falling on the leaf. Most of the time, the movie looked blurry and doubled when I couldn't focus enough, but it was still quite an experience.

I started understanding that my vision is different from everyone else, even the ones who also wear glasses, when 3D movies became a thing. I paid way too much money to only see a red or a blue tinted movie and to leave early due to a major headache. I think my strabismus is the reason why I have a very good threedimensional understanding though. Like I can draw very well and I can imagine very well how things rotate etc and I think it’s because my brain developed these abilities better to counter my lack of 3d vision. Doctors always told me I will never be able to see and that my vision was f-ed as a child because my parent’s didn’t have enough time to bring me to vision school. I started crossing my eyes again but now outwards just like you and it’s been getting so much worse in the past 2 years…

There are so many ways to improve the vision that you currently have. You may not be able to get perfect stereopsis, but it can get so much better, functionally. go to learn.strabismussolutions.com for help.

@@strabismustostereopsis7799 I'm after cataract surgery on a visually impaired eye (the defect was reduced from -16 to -2.5, but I can only see 2 rows because of my vision loss. I am waiting for surgery on the other eye (visual defect -16). I had convergent strabismus as a child. Now for this visually impaired eye I have divergent strabismus. I am considering strabismus surgery, but I am afraid of double vision. However, I am glad that after the cataract surgery this visually impaired eye has "turned on" after all. I tested it with 3D glasses and special cards (green-red pairs). I can see the green card and the red card at the same time. Is this the beginning of binocular vision? Now I can't see 3D.I am a premature baby, I am 33 years old. I am considering VIR therapy. I will add that when I see 2 cards at the same time with 3D glasses, the eye with zeem sets straight.Eyeglasses in childhood "straightened out" convergent strabismus, and divergent strabismus appeared when I began to develop cataracts (about 12 years ago).

Is the 3d experience in cinema the same as 3d experience in real life? I'm trying to figure out, if I have 3d vision, if I ever had it, cause I get double vision at the adult age and nothing really changed, except I can't wath 3d movies any more

There are similarities, but it is definitely different for me. You may have slowly lost that stereo vision and didn't notice it missing, but I'm sure if you were suddenly to gain that vision back, it would be life changing. Have you looked into vision therapy at all? Double vision can be so debilitating and they can help so much! strabismussolutions.com/findvt/

@strabismustostereopsis7799 thank you. Yes, I'm into the vision therapy, but by myself. I don't have a vision therapist for adults in my reach. But I definitely see some result, when I have it in my day routine. And your videos are helpful too!
