But any US main with a brain just brings one of their SEVERAL extremely competent planes to simply shoot the russian CAS out of the sky. And thanks to the new strike eagle's absurd AG package, it can absolutely overwhelm SPAA while shooting down russian air. The Su-34 brings nothing new to the game, and what it does, it does poorly for an end of the line jet. ESPECIALLY when compared to what it was added to contrast, the blatantly OP strike eagle. (cough cough mach 2.5 in a full elevator turn)

US has been stronger in top tier for the longest times. Sure there was R27ER before FOX3 but it was hug the ground meta and radar missiles were easy to defeat so it didnt matter that much. Even before that, the phantoms were kind of better than mig21 and mig23. Even mig23 and mig21 flight models were nerfed. Hell every rank 7 and 8 russian jet got its flight model nerfed to the ground. Its just a joke at this point. Worse radars, worse rwr, worse missiles except r27er. Yet every jet has its flight model nerfed to the ground. The whole doctrine of russian jets was being agile and fast. Its unplayable.

People in this comment section really seem to be missing the point of the video. I dont think Seek was expecting this aircraft to somehow be a game changer for Russian top tier Air RB. I think he's moreso making this video to inform those in the community who DID think that. For people who havent been keeping completely up to date on the new additions this patch, it somewhat makes sense to expect this aircraft to be a gamechanger. This is the same patch that is replacing the current meta jet - the F15C, with the F15E - effectively an F15C which turns marginally worse, but accelerates to mach 2 almost twice as fast, and doesnt bleed any speed once there.

It’s mid because it isn’t particularly great at anything. Mid = middle I know it’s a CAS jet, I say that numerous times throughout the video. My channel however is based around Air RB, to which this plane is kind of pointless to play. That said I still make effort to talk about ground RB, where it is actually useful, though nothing spectacular that stands out.

The one, very minor, trick up its sleeve that the Su-34 might have over the Su-27 is to try to pull off those so called "R-27ER stealth launches." I'm sure you're familiar with the tactic already. Launch the ER, break lock, let it coast at the target on inertial guidance, and then reestablish lock at the last possible moment to sucker punch the opponent with a radar missile with little warning from their RWR. Personally I think the tactic is mostly a meme that only exists in forum warrior anecdotes and text book fantasy land. The garbage radars on the preceding russian jets made it impractical to maintain TWS lock on the target and reliably reacquire the lock for the missile's terminal phase. The PESA radar on the Su-34 might be able to reliably maintain the TWS lock and reacquire the lock to pull off the trick. I still have a lot of grinding before I can try that myself with the Su-34. The elephant in the room is that while you're trying to be cute with your elaborate trick shot the F-15Es just rolled their faces on the keyboard to vomit a bunch of SPAMRAAMs down range before going cold at mach 2.

R77-1 exists, it gets rid of the chicken wire fence fins for normal ones And also the drag is very borked for r77, at supersonic speeds the drag is comparable to AAMs with conventional fins and its only under mach 1 that it starts to matter. But in game there is no such thing as dynamic drag coefficient for AAMs so r77 is stuck with the subsonic high drag value

The KH38s are probably the only thing that Russia gets that can be used as Mavs but with much better lock range... Alot of people cry about them because the Su25 with it can just spawn in and fire them off straight off the bat without their SPAA being able to take them down, it is also everyone's cry to for about Russian Bias because of now two CAS planes that suck at AA get 4-6 missiles that you can fire off as soon as you spawn. They clearly don't realise that every Blue side jet gets Mavs that are invis and easy to get kills with. Two planes that get long range missiles that are fire and forget does not equal the whole tech tree of another nation getting similar missiles but every single one of their jets part from certain specific Air to Air jets get them past 10.0... Keep in mind that the Russian 29TD missile that can be found on the 29SMT and the 27SM can also be fired at spawn however to get a sustained lock and track on a target you need to be within 5-4km without any NVDs or Thermal sights on them....

my guy is judging a fish ability to climb a tree, its a platform modified to be a striker/light bomber (which isnt limited to carrying 150 bombs to carpet bomb as people believe) that can dogfight cause it needs it for the role it fits, thats like saying the a10 isnt as good as an f16 in dogfights just because they can both carry AA missiles. isnt as easy as comparing a spitfire to a 109 anymore

@SeekerHead i did and you are right but still, comparing or judging an f1 car's abilities to drift is an oversimplification, tbh the main problem (as always) here is gaijin forcing us to play a soft arcade mode made for biplanes, it just makes no sense at this point (at high tiers we should have at least enemy names/distance disabled since it was designed to not spend 3h looking for the enemy players with a 200kmh aicraft) isnt that certain aicrafts are good or bad is just that they dont fit in the gamemode at all, core example the su25, worthless in air rb, but take it to ground rb and its the most broken thing you can imagine (again, fulfilling its actual role). just like the nighthawk DoA, another certified gaijin moment.

The US has been superior to Russian jets since at least 1990, so it’s just realistic. Obviously, the Russians won't always be on top - otherwise, you'd have to expect the same from other nations, which simply wouldn't be realistic either. I mean, do you really expect an SU-35 or SU-57 to perform on the same level as an F-22 or F-35? Hardly. That would be completely unrealistic. Of course, there should be some level of balancing. But every aircraft should have its own distinct character that reflects its historical strengths.

I just want to clear up “where’s the Russian bias now”. It the same place it has always been. The “Russian bias” isn’t gaijin making RU planes and vehicles op. The “bias” is in bug fixes and updating incorrect values (armor and such) in a timely manor or doing it at all. Example: When there is a spelling error in a RU cockpit it gets fixed next patch, but minor nations have placeholder MFDs for over a year. AND (here’s the kicker) the “bias” isn’t Russian specifically, its major nations and premiums. In other words, it’s *money maker bias*

The G load of a missile is one of 100 stats. AMRAAMs are better than R77s by a long shot. And the “super maneuverable” thing is just air show talk irl. Su27 is not a good dogfighter in war thunder, amongst the worst even.

The F15E can takeoff and get to Mach 2 in almost one third the time of the SU27SM. It can then maintain above Mach 2 in a 9g turn, all while having better Fox 3 missiles, a better radar, more countermeasures, and comparable or better low speed performance than the SU27SM. What more could you *possibly* want?

The 50G stat is misleading and the R-77 is MUCH worse than the SPAMRAAM. Also there is NOTHING super maneuverable about the russian planes flight models at top tier. Everything except the Yak-141 has been completely hobbled in terms of flight performance.
