Capt. How would Jungian approach integration of the monster within oneself? Doesn't our dark side have unclean hands, the capacity to destroy what we love?

It’s a fair question, certainly it involves making the unconscious conscious. I think the critical question is whether the life destroying monster within is a product of human nature or rather a product of being raised within a culture that relies on violence and exploitation for its existence. I believe it to be the latter, and believe that as much as possible stepping away from participating in such changes the whole dynamic. Or at least I have found so to be the case.

Perhaps. Unconscious cultural conditioning. Not a subtle reframe. I had a greater sense of empathy at an early age.
