I have one ear and I'm hard of hearing. I was wanting research other videos to see what I could portray on my channel for music. I just watched this beautiful story and they brought tears to my eyes. I can't imagine being deaf and living in a war where I've lived in America all of my life. I fought many of my own battles, but I their story reminded me to be truly thankful for what I do have. Thank you so much for sharing this sweet story. I do want to say that I can relate about being in a deaf institute and how signing wasn't welcomed. I was at a school for the deaf when I was four and was taught to read lips instead of signing. This was back in the early 1980s when the deaf and hard of hearing community wasn't welcomed in all over the world it seemed. I know a little ASL and I am learning it because I think it's such a beautiful language. I refer it to as dancing with my hands.
