Titan Quest is a real og ARPG. While the market was mainly concerned with Diablo and anything that resembledits dark and gory atmosphere, Titan Quest possessed a bright and colorful atmosphere that really made its world and denizens shine. It also has the 'Troglodyte' as an enemy, so how could this game not be the best ARPG ever made?
Thanks for watching! As always, I hope you enjoyed this little run of insanity, and if you did, I would greatly appreciate if you Liked, Commented, Shared, and Subscribed! Your support is what truly makes my videos what
they are.
And for those supporting me on Patreon, thank you incredibly much! We just crossed my first goal, and I am over the moon. Thank you! / seergames

Honestly? Ragnarok is pretty damn good and feels like it belongs with the rest of the game. Atlantis? Eh. There's some cool features to it but there's some definite hits and misses in it so it's pretty okay, but not as great. Eternal Embers though? Definitely not great, especially considering you can't even access the content if you don't play on legendary difficulty lol, and it's just a rehashed Act 3/in Asia but now spooky demons bruh.

A lot of people (including myself) have Titan Quest to thank for introducing mythology and ancient history into our lives. Not only the monsters, NPCs and unique items have an appropriate legend or location associated with them ingame. But many non-unique weapons and armor have been taken from archeological findings. Up to this day I'm always amazed when they show a phrygian helm or a kopis and I can immediately identify them as TQ weapons. While the locations featured in the Acts are downscaled in size, they make sense for their time-period. The architecture of the temples and tombs to the mud huts are specially impressive. The more one learns of ancient history the more you appreciate how much research the devs must've put into making them realistic. A few years ago I finally went to Greece. I visited Delphi and Knossos and imagine my surprise when I look at Delphi's site maps and holy shit it looks EXACTLY the same as in TQ. It felt surreal when I started to walk the rampart up to the Temple of Apollo in Delphi. Like I was at one of those videogame induced dreams you sometimes get after doing a 12h session. I'm pretty sure the same happens at the Valley of the Kings in Act 2 with some tombs names and positions in the map. tldr: Great game. Good ambient soundtrack. Best setting of any ARPG.

One of my favorite things about this game is the amount of freedom you're allowed when making a build, not only are you allowed to choose from 2 different classes that have a completely different playstyle requirement (ex warfare + spirit) but you can play said class however you like, you can be melee focused or ranged focused, nothing is stopping you and i love the amount of experimentation you're allowed

Loved the video! Titan Quest is one of the coolest ARPGs I've ever played. I still have to play the latest expansions! About the developers, Ironlore doesn't exist anymore, unfortunately. After the release of Immortal Throne, Ironlore ended up disbanding (right around the time when THQ went bankrupt, which were the original Titan Quest publishers). Some ex-Ironlore developers went on and created Crate Entertainment, which developed Grim Dawn. Many years later, THQ Nordic acquired the rights to the Titan Quest franchise, and released the Anniversary Edition. Later on, THQ Nordic alongside Pieces Interactive and Digital Arrow have released the 3 latest expansions, Ragnarok, Atlantis and Eternal Embers.

Titan quest is special in many aspects - thing that I liked is that mobs that carry Unique loot visibly carry it and drop it - had some surprises myself. Liked green items - dropping them felt exciting 'cause they can be busted(+50% hp, % increase to all attributes, etc) and the best green sword is basically impossible to drop(on the level of Tyrael's might)

I played TQ for the first time a couple of years ago and without having any nostalgia attachments and I can say it's the best arpg I've played (then comes d2). Your resistances actually matter, just like GD, in higher difficulties you won't get far without high res. What makes this one unique thought is the fact that you can't enchant your blue/legendary items. This gives you an extra motive to experiment with greens/monster infrequents, rather than following a standardized meta. The only downside imo is the endgame which needs polishing.

I have also liked the full loot system which you didn't really mention (sigh). What really makes it great is that whenever you see an enemy carry a weapon or armor once he dies he explodes with his gear. And it also exists in Grim Dawn. And as you've mentioned lore makes and the world itself makes it especially interesting to play as you basically relieve those old Greek (and not only) myths.

The balancing, the quests, factions and decisionmaking just adds complexity that TQ does not have. Additionally GD is much more polished and every playstyle is possible and viable. I started out playing Loki(I'd love to see you make a video on that one, there's gotta be a lot to pick at for a vulture like you). Then I found this and this was waaaaaaaay better. Loki only really had good graphics. Titan Quest was an upgrade in literally every aspect. Personally I enjoy the beauty of hand crafted, set worlds instead of AI generated blandness.

I think the original devs went on to make Grim Dawn, an ARPG that also used the dual mastery/class sytem.

i've been eager to hear you talk about titan quest. i've been on the fence about buying it just because i don't have much free time anymore, but you've definitely sold me on it. i love what you do and i'm looking forward to seeing more of the best seeries on youtube!

I love this game. I love that it is bright, the rag doling enemies and that you get more bosses on harder difficulties.

After iron lore closed down, they formed a new team called crate entertainment and made grim dawn. Grim dawn uses the Titan quest game engine.

You didnt even mention the stunning mechanic of monsters wearing what they will drop. You see a tigerman with a big flaming bow, you know he'll be a pain in the ass to take down... but you also know you'll get that bow from him! Also TQ makes a man realize just how many ARPG use the same boring zombie/demon setting, like what the actual fuck?!

love titan quest, game was basically my childhood and what introduced me to arpg's in the first place, but its hard to get my self to play it when grim dawn exists, and then the mod that brings titan quest classes into grim dawn exists.

I love a feature of TQ when an enemy can pop from another enemy. Just finished one boring zombie? Boom, a skeleton pops out from him like a stripper from a birthday cake! Feels fun to be surprised like that from time to time
