Episode 94 - 96 Notes: Part 1 The Year of Delegations The delegations officially began in 5 AH and lasted until the demise of the Prophet SAW. 9 AH is called The Year of Delegations because this is when the delegations peaked, which was due to the Muslim Conquest over Makkah. Delegations came to Medina for various reasons and below are some of them including examples: - Some came to convert willingly Delegation of Abdul Qays The Banu Abdul Qays was the first tribe from outside of Hijaz to accept Islam voluntarily. They were originally a mixture of Christian and pagan. The Prophet SAW predicted they would come and stated “they are the best people in the world from the East”. They visited Medina twice, the first time was in 5 AH and the second was in 9 AH. In 5 AH, they came to Medina in order to accept Islam and when they arrived, they all rushed to Medina to meet the Prophet SAW. Except for one of them, Abdullah Ibn Awf, who decided to take a bath and wear his best clothes before he went to meet the Prophet SAW to accept Islam. The Prophet SAW praised Abdullah RA for having two qualities that Allah ST loves, which are controlling his anger and not being hasty. This tribe then left Medina and they were the first group to build a masjid (called Jawatha Masjid) in Eastern Arabia, where they would hold the second ever regular Jummah outside of Hijaz. Delegation of Tamin Al Dari RA Tamim Al Dari was a Christian from the North that came to accept Islam. Fatima Bint Qays RA was the narrator of this Hadith. The Prophet SAW called all the Muslims to the Masjid in 9 AH and told them to listen to the story of Tamim Al Dari, which he liked because it confirmed what he had told them about the Dajjal. Tamim Al Dari RA had travelled on a small boat with 30 men and got shipwrecked at sunset on an island. There they encountered a creature that was so hairy, they could not distinguish its front from its back. The creature called itself Al Jassasa. Al Jassasa told Tamim to come to the monastery where a man is waiting to meet them. There Tamim met a man who was giant in shape and bound in chains and shackles. Tamim upon seeing the man asked him who he was and the man reversed the question. Tamim then explained the events that led him there. The man then begun asking a series of questions about the date palms of Baysaan, the lake of Tabariyyah and the spring of Zughar. The man then asked Tamim about the achievements of the unlettered Prophet SAW. Tamim informed him about the Prophet SAWs Hijrah to Medina, the victories against the Arab pagans and this made the man surprised. The man then stated he is the Dajjal and that he said soon will be given permission by Allah SWT to leave the island. The Dajjal then stated how he will visit every town within 40 days and not spare anyone, except for Makkah and Medina which he stated are guarded by Angels. The Prophet SAW then begun hitting his stick on the pulpit and stated this is Medina. The Prophet SAW then reminded the Sahabah RA that, he told them before about the Dajjal and they confirmed this. The Prophet SAW then stated that the Dajjal is in the Mediterranean sea or in the Yemeni sea and then he said “no he is in the east”. Tamim Al Dari became a Muslim after this and lived a pious life. - Some embraced Islam but were munafiqs Delegation of Banu Asad Ibn Khuzaymah This tribe unlike other tribes that converted, came to the Masjid of the Prophet SAW and begun bragging about how they accepted Islam without fighting the Muslims and they bragged endlessly. In response to this Allah SWT revealed Ayah 17 of Surah Hujurat stating that, this tribe haven’t done Islam a favour, but rather Allah SWT has done them a favour by guiding them from Kufr. - Some had no intention to become Muslims but then embraced Islam Delegation of Banu Sa’d Ibn Bakr This was a bedouin subtribe of the Hawazin and Halimah RA is from this tribe. In 9 AH, the Prophet SAW had sent them an emissary asking them to accept Islam. The tribe sent Dimam Ibn Tha’labah to negotiate a peace treaty. Dimam upon meeting the Prophet SAW informed him that, he wants to ask him questions about Islam and that he will be very blunt. The Prophet SAW allowed him to do this and thus he begun confirming the basic tenants of Islam in a very melodramatic manner. Eventually, Dimam after being satisfied by the answers of the Prophet SAW, took his Shahadah and then stated he would only do the bare minimum Fardh’s of Islam. The Prophet SAW stated this is enough to get him to Jannah. Dimam RA then returned to his tribe and begun giving them dawah. They all respected him so much they accepted Islam and destroyed their pagan idol. Delegation of Banu Daws In 7th year of Dawah Tufayl Ibn Amr came to Makkah in order to do his pilgrimage and was a pagan at the time. He was the chief of the Banu Daws and he had been forewarned by the Quraysh about the Prophet SAW, who the Quraysh told him was a soothsayer. Tufayl whilst in Makkah encountered the Prophet SAW and decided to approach him and see what the rumours are all about. The Prophet SAW gave Tufayl dawah and Tufayl RA embraced Islam and went back to his tribe to begin giving Dawah. Tufayl RA managed to successfully bring 80 families from his tribe into the fold of Islam. Tufayl even asked the Prophet SAW to come and stay in Yemen with him. But Allah SWT willed otherwise and thus the Prophet SAW never accepted his proposal. In 8 AH, Tufayl RA then decided to immigrate to Medina. This meant he gave up his title as chief of Banu Daws. Tufayl RA migrating even convinced others from his tribe to migrate, including Abu Hurairah RA. Abu Hurairah RA was converted by Tufayl Ibn Amr RA. CONTINUED ON THEN NEXT EPISODE ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

I was thinking about something two days ago. Looking at all these stories of seerah. The seerah of Rosullulah saw is what is been discussed for over 104 videos each reaching one hour. That is approximately one week of discussing the life of Rosullulah saw if there was no break in 24hours a day. And if we are to include the discussions of sahabas, because whether we like it or not, none of the sahabas would have had their history documented and discussed if it wasn't connected with the seerah of Rosullulah saw. Now go back and investigate, just give me one other person in history of human existence whose seerah can be discussed for even 6 hours with details. Who in history has this miraculous documentation about? None that i know of. Allah(swt) is The greatest. HE hounoured Rosullulah saw so much that 2000 years after he leaves the earth, human kind still have such comprehensive documentation of him, his friends and companions. Where are the arrogant leaders of that time who asked if Allah( The Almighty) did not find any one more worthy to have sent. They all have their significance buried and eroded in time. But 2000 years later, the seerah of Rosullulah saw is still learned. Infact the remnants of their names in history is still tied to the seerah of Rosullulah saw. If we weren't learning seerah, we would never know about their names. Allahu akbar

Dr. Qadhi, I'd like to offer some thoughts on the issues you brought up with the hadtih - 1. Huge - It could be the case that when Tameem Ad-Dari described Ad-Dajjal he was speaking about the width and stock of him and not his height. There seemed to have been a detail in this hadith that I heard from another speaker, that his arms were so large they were unable to touch his sides (like a bodybuilder). 2. Kaafir - it may be the case that the word kaafir will not be placed on his forehead until the time it is necessary for him to be differentiated by the mu'min. 3. Eye - it may be the case that Ad-Dajjal was not born with his eye condition and develops it later on in life. From other speakers, the description of the blind eye of Ad-Dajjal seesms to resemble that of cataracts, which usually develops in old age. 4. 100 years/born to a couple - These may be chronological issue. The hadiths for these could have been from before Tameem related his story as it seems, from details in the story itself, that this happened towards the end of prophethood. JazakAllahu khairan for your effort in bringing us the seerah, and with all things Allahu A'lim

Praise be to Allah. The hadeeth of Tameem al-Daari was narrated by Muslim in his Saheeh. It has been quoted in full in the answer to question no. 82643. It indicates that the Dajjaal is alive at present, and was alive at the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), and that he will remain detained until permission is given to him to emerge. This does not contradict what is narrated in al-Saheehayn from ‘Abd-Allaah ibn ‘Umar (may Allaah be pleased with him), who said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) led us in ‘Isha’ prayer one night at the end of his life, then when he had said the salaam he stood up and said: “Have you seen this night of yours? One hundred years from now, there will no one left who is on the face of the earth.” Narrated by al-Bukhaari (116) and Muslim (2537). This hadeeth is general in meaning and the hadeeth of Tameem is specific, therefore it is exempted from the general meaning of the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar; or the Dajjaal at that time was in the sea and not on land, so he was not included in the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar. Al-‘Allaamah Muhammad al-Ameen al-Shanqeeti (may Allaah have mercy on him) said in Adwa’ al-Bayaan (3/397), responding to those who said that al-Khidr is still alive on the basis that the general meaning of the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) does not include absolutely everyone, i.e., the words “there will no one left who is on the face of the earth”: Because the hadeeth about the emergence of the Dajjaal is a sound hadeeth, and that means that the Dajjaal is exempted from the general meaning of the hadeeth of Ibn ‘Umar. It is a hadeeth that is proven in al-Saheeh, from the words of Faatimah bint Qays (may Allaah be pleased with her), who heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) say that Tameem al-Daari spoke to him, and that he liked what Tameem al-Daari told him, because it was in accordance with what he was telling his companions about the Dajjaal. Then he quoted the hadeeth of Tameem. Then he said: This clearly states that the Dajjaal is alive on that island in the sea that is mentioned in the hadeeth of Tameem al-Daari, and that he will remain alive until he emerges at the end of time. This is a text which is specific in meaning and excludes the Dajjaal from the general meaning of the hadeeth which says that everyone would die within the next century. The established principle in usool is that the general meaning should be taken as such, and that whatever is excluded from it on the basis of a specific text is excluded from the general meaning, but the general meaning still remains applicable to all individuals for whom there is no evidence that they are excluded. As we have stated several times previously, this is the truth and is the view of the majority, and it applies to most of what is in the Qur’aan and Sunnah of general matters from which a few individuals are excluded on the basis of a specific text, but the general meaning remains applicable to the rest. End quote. And Allaah knows best. (Taken from IslamQA-info)

Salaam brother, regarding your comment about no souls being alive after 100 years. Can you relate it to the story of the army that prophet Sulaiman buried behind a wall and that they try to dig themselves out everyday but are unsuccessful. They will be successful on the day they start by saying bismillah.

Ahmad (23139) narrated that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “I have been warning you about the Dajjaal who has one abraded eye.” [The narrators] said: I think he said the left eye. “He will have with him mountains of bread and rivers of water, and his sign will stay in the earth for forty mornings, and his authority will reach everywhere. He will not come to four mosques: the Ka’bah, the Mosque of the Prophet, al-Masjid al-Aqsa and the Mosque of al-Toor (Sinai).” This hadeeth was classed as saheeh by Shu’ayb al-Arna’oot in Tahqeeq al-Musnad.

Dajjal will be born again in this world. as Adam and Eve was in a janna not in the real jannath.. (rasool s will be the first one to enter the real jannah) same as dajjal was somewhere shackled and when his term come he will be born naturally; if we go to seek weak narrations in the sahih hadiths it will make waswas in the feeble hearts. same as yagjooj and magjooj , if we ponder about them we cannot make sense of it as these billions of people are in the earth when the satellites are monitoring 24 hours. tamim dari hadith is a trailer for us thats why he was giant in look and dont mention one eye or writing the kafara as his real journey has not yet come. and tamim dari was not aware about the kafir sign that time.
