Dear Brother Yasir Qadhi, this is the 2nd time I am listening to the Seerah narrated by you. May Allah bless your efforts and accept them. I strongly feel that Abu Talib had too much pride in his nasab, though he loved the prophet but his pride over shadow his will for guidance. Allah does not guide the heart that does not seek guidance, that is why he will have a place in Hell fire. If Abu Talib had accepted Islam it would have been a greater service for his Nephew and I spread of Islam.

Tears to the eyes. MaashaAllah, beautifully told. Around the one hour mark he tells the wisdom why Abu Talib didn't convert, that he would be persecuted and killed if he did so, which is understandable. But what stopped him from saying the Kalimah on his death bed? He was dying anyway, so the Quraysh couldn't do a thing. When the Shaykh said that the Prophet salAllahu alayhi wa sallam asked him to convert on the one hand, and Abu Jahl tried to stop him on the other, I was thinking of an angel on the one side, calling to good, and a devil on the other calling to evil. And by the juz'i irada, the partial free will that we all possess, Abu Talib, with the greatest regret, chose the side of his father's religion. At the same place he also says that some muslim groups elevate the Prophet salAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam to (demi-)Godhood, and I highly doubt that there are people who actually do this. Anyone who is familiar with the Aqeedah of the Ahl as-Sunnah wal jama'at knows that he is *'Abduhū* wa rasūluh. Anyway, great series. I will continue watching, bi mashīatillah.

The wisdom mentioned by Yasir Qadhi for Abu Talib not accepting Islam has problems, first of all, it can be questioned because he has not quoted any hadith or verse from the Quran supporting the wisdom he mentioned, therefore if we find it problematic we can question it. Its his own understanding I guess, he did not quote any scholar having this opinion as well. So the problem is if we go with the wisdom mentioned it would mean Allah stopped someone from accepting Islam only because His Prophet could be saved from people which would be unfair for Abu Talib, Allah mentions in many verses of the Quran the attributes which if people have He would not guide them, like liars, arrogant etc. But not guiding someone for the sole reason of saving the Prophet as mentioned by Yasir qadhi, even if the person has goodness in him doesn't seem to be fair and just. It would actually defeat the purpose of Allah sending the Prophet, it's like Allah sent Prophet to guide but stopping someone from guidance to save the same Prophet, it is self defeating.

Episode 12 & Episode 13 & Episode 14 Notes: 5 Stages of Dawah of The Prophet SAW 1. Private Dawah: If you face persecution you do this. Don’t be public if the risk is too much. The Prophet SAW preached like this, for the first 3 years of Islam. 2. Open Dawah: Preaching with the tongue with no military confrontation. You can’t defend yourself since your too weak. 10 years of Prophet SAW’s dawah was like this. 3. Dawah with the Tongue: This can include military confrontation but, only with 1 group and only if they are persecuting you. It’s strictly defensive. This lasted until the Battle of Khandaq. 4. Open Dawah to All with Military Confrontation that is strictly defensive: You give dawah to everyone and only use military confrontation with anyone who attacks you. Again strictly defensive. This lasted from Khandaq to Conquest of Makkah. 5. Open Dawah to All with Military Confrontation to anyone who opposes Islam: The Prophet SAW passed away during this stage of the dawah. This stage continued until the Middle of the Abbasid Caliphate after which, they went to stage 4 and now we are at stage 2 in modern times. Open Dawah Open Dawah began 3 years after the first revelation and it began because during this period, Allah SWT revealed several verses that explicitly told the Prophet SAW to begin telling the people. The first instance of this was when, the Prophet SAW invited his tribe, to his house. But, Abu Lahab realised what was about to happen, so he left during this meeting and so did others. So, the Prophet SAW invited his tribe again to his house and this time begun preaching whilst they ate. Abu Lahab is the only one who was harsh and the rest of Prophet SAW’s tribesmen, took the message as nothing serious. A few weeks after this, the Prophet SAW went public to the whole of Makkah. The Prophet SAW climbed Mount Safa and gave the “army on the other side of this mountain” speech. Then the Prophet SAW told all of the tribes, to save themselves from punishment and that he cannot help them on Judgement day. When the Prophet SAW had finished, Abu Lahab threw sand in his direction and went off on an abusive tirade. This is when Surah Masad was revealed, in response to his insults. After this, the Prophet SAW would preach everywhere he could and this led to the Quraysh opposing his dawah. Opposition to the Open Dawah •The Banu Hashim gave Abu Talib an ultimatum: Give us your nephew or you deal with your nephew. Abu Talib went to Prophet SAW and asked him to stop preaching. But, after he saw that Prophet SAW was sincere. He promised not to oppose the Prophet SAW’s message. He lived up to this promise, till the day he died. •A delegation of Quraysh came to Abu Talib, to offer Umara in exchange for Muhammad SAW. Abu Talib got angry at this and rejected this offer. •The Quraysh prohibited the recitation of Qur’an in public. They did this by trying to drown it out and they would curse Allah SWT and Muhammad SAW. Ibn Masud volunteered to recite the Qur’an in public despite the consequences and as a result he was beaten so severely, that he didn’t get 2 pages through the chapter he was reciting. But, this didn’t deter Ibn Masud. •The Quraysh would mock the Prophet SAW and the believers: One of the women of the Quraysh mocked the Prophet SAW for not receiving any new revelations over a period and this hurt the Prophet SAW. So thus Allah SWT revealed Surah Duha reassuring the Prophet SAW. Also, Abu Jahal would mock or beat the believers, depending on the social class of the follower. •False accusations: They called the Prophet SAW crazy, a fortune teller and that he had magic done on him. Allah SWT directly refuted these claims in the Qur’an. Also, Abu Jahal and Abu Lahab would wait outside Makkah and tell the Hujjaj to avoid speaking to Muhammad SAW. Story of Al Walid Al Walid was a master poet and the father of Khalid Ibn Walid. He heard the Prophet SAW reciting Qur’an one night and praised the Qur’an. Abu Jahal found out, and told him to make disparaging remarks about the Qur’an or else the Quraysh would not be happy with him . Al Walid told Abu Jahal to give him some time and he came up with the excuse, that the Qur’an is a special type of magic. But, before he could tell the people. Allah SWT had already revealed the 2nd portion of Surah 74 and exposed his lies. The Three Leaders of Quraysh Abu Jahal, Abu Sufyan and Al Akhnas who were three leaders of Quraishi sub tribes. who were mesmerised by the Qur’an and wanted to hear it again. So, each of them would come to the Prophet SAW’s house and listen the Prophet SAW recite Qur’an at Tahajjud time. They did this on 3 consecutive nights and each night they would encounter one another Eventually, they agreed to protect their self-respect, they would stop listening each night. Shortly after, Akhnas and Abu Sufyan met and agreed that the Qur’an is the truth. Al Akhnas went to Abu Jahal and asked him for his opinion and Abu Jahal told him that he would never accept Islam, because of the tribal rivalry he had with the Prophet SAW’s tribe. CONTINUED ON NEXT EP ========================================================== Disclaimer for my Notes of Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam Series: Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh, these are my notes on Sheikh Yasir Qadhi’s Seerah series. Please note: I HIGHLY recommend that you all watch YQ’s Seerah series, as I DON’T cover every single detail the Sheikh mentions. I made these notes primarily for myself but, decided my fellow brothers and sisters may benefit from them too. I no doubt will have made mistakes in my notes. All the good in these notes is from Allah SWT and all the mistakes are from myself. But, I was very meticulous and tried my best to make sure everything is accurate as the Sheikh mentions it. You also will see I have added “Fun Trivia facts” under each of my notes. These FTFs are information YQ said that was off topic or not necessary to include in my notes for the episode. But, they were still worth mentioning hence the inclusion as FTFs. FTFs aren’t always HAPPY pieces of information. Sometimes they are very sad trivia. I just want to say that FTF is the phrase I used for them all collectively when making the notes. One thing I wanted to do but am too lazy to do is, maybe someone could take the FTFs from under each “Episode” and make an Islamic reminder/information IG/TikTok account and post them daily or something. Could be a great form of Sadaqah Jaariyah. Please keep me in your Duas and ask Allah SWT to forgive all our sins during this blessed month and beyond! Ameen

Then how will be the caliphat minhajun-nabu’a come. The part dr yasir sir said that jihaad(though I think he is afraid to utter the word) is not obligatory it’s permissible, isn’t that mean he indirectly ignoring one of the most important fard of Islam!!! In Quranul kareem we have more than 600+ verse on Jihad fi sabilillah (of course Muslim can’t cross limit as Allah swt command us and there should be cause for fights). If we look all around the world we can clearly see that how much Jihaad need to free our Muslims who are persecuted all over the world. And No doubt for that we have to have the authority. I’m sorry I didn’t expect this opinion from dr Yasir sir.😔

I stopped believing in Holy War upon accepting Islam. Revolution towards Islamic Law is not by force of war, but by changing the hearts towards God and living right by one's self. We don't always need to say we are Muslim, but we are to enjoin good and forbid evil where possible. We don't have to show the difference in times where it is important to prove their is similarity. Connect people to what they don't know by what they do know. All but one of the most cared for in my family and in my life have not accepted Islam. Like Abu Talib, one I care very deeply for has expressed that she knows that certain teachings are right and good, but there are things in her life that she knew she would have to give up were she to even state "La ilaha Ill Allah Muhammada rrasuwl Ullah." Every bit counts and we should never deny the importance of even the most temporary raise in consciousness and righteousness or the minute drop in ignorance and wickedness. Any good effect should be seen as a success that counts in the end of us and them.

It would actually defeat the purpose of Allah sending the Prophet, it's like Allah sent Prophet to guide but stopping someone from guidance to save the same Prophet, it is self defeating

Sheikh I can't see the reference to where the Quraysh offered the Prophet pbuh kingship, power, wealth and women. Is this not authentic?

@YasirQadhi Last lecture you mentioned that an ayah from surat ghafir indicated that Yousef was a messenger but I would like you to explain how so because it could mean that Allah will bring after him a messenger.. what exactly indicates from that ayah that he is a messenger? JAK

Because the ayah says "you said Allah will not send another Rasol after him(Yosef ) " the ayah mentioned Nabi Yosef as Rasol
