Awesome build . I saw Seiko spb143 on a KZbin vid and fell in love . I also tried it on while on vacation at a Seiko boutique. Love the style hate the $ and weight . Planning to buy the Seestern v3 62 mas . For now I will stick with rubber strap . I have a 6.25 wrist . Bracelet has male end links , no go for me . I love the 62 mas look . Hope the Seestern quality is good enough .

Great video and amazing watch. I am planning to buy one and probably follow you on shaving the back and changing the dial. But have you found a sterile or "s" labelled crown that fit the watch? Like the one from the SKX013 for example? Thanks for the video

I did try but no luck. Some of the crowns have 2 gaskets and the widths can vary. If you find the right one, get back at me. If you file down the case back use a new file, don’t use an old me like me. That will take a long time. Thanks for watching and dropping a comment.

@@mariops289 the dial is not OEM, it’s and after market dial. Which to my understanding just means it’s not a Dial made by Seiko. But it is 28.5 and any NH movement compatible.

I’m flattered that you quoted me, Jay. Where did you get the Seiko dial and that sweet leather strap? As far as homage watches go, I feel the 62mas is a perfect candidate. An original 62mas is virtually unobtainable, especially in good condition. It’s kind of like those Shelby Cobra replica kit cars you can buy for the price of a new Toyota Corolla. The originals are unobtanium, so third party manufacturers have stepped in and made a legendary car available to the Everyman. It’s not a perfect analogy, because Seiko does offer a reissue, but it costs a fortune. I doubt Seiko is losing sales to Heimdallr, Seestern, San Martin, Cadisen, etc. Those folks were never gonna shell out $3500 for the genuine Seiko article.

I did file the case back that came with the Seestern. I filed away the wave and the surfing starfish.

Use a good file. It took over an hour to do it by hand. Pain in the butt.

I’m thinking the actual review of my Seiko SNKE03KC. Seems to be the vid that is getting the most views right now, even though it’s mostly a rant. But probably won’t happen for a good while. You should change the crown and also the back cover similiar to Seiko. Seestern logo doesnt look nice.. Even though Crown wth letter S would look better.
