I've been visiting there few days ago! I went there in last October 12 that was the Christ the Redeemer's anniversary and also my birthday. October 12 here in Brazil it's national holiday. It's celebrated the Nossa Senhora de Aparecida, Saint day of Brazil and also the children's day.

I don't blame him, after all the modern Western popular image of jesus is a total rip off of Zues. It is not unusual because the statue is on the top of a high mountain, which is an ideal place for lightning strikes. Stand on the top of the hill or mountain and it will strike you as well, especially in thunder storm weather.

Just an honest question to all christians out there, as I'm curious as to what your responses will be: Why does an all-powerful, all-knowing and all-loving God allow for thousands of newly born children to die horrible deaths due to diseases every year? @@Tomas-qk5fy It could be a trap question, yes. Still I would have loved to get a serious answer. But alright, here's my answer to your questions: 1. I do not hate God as I do not believe in God. However, by Christian logic, nature is created exactly as God had intended, therefore showing hatred to nature is showing hatred to God's creation, hence to God. I however do not hate nature. I love nature, although in nature one could very easily find things to hate (such as diseases or - a very trivial matter - the behaviour of a cuckoo). 2. I wish we were. Many diseases are still unable to be cured, leaving thousands of babies to die every year. I assume this hurts you just as much as it hurts me. In all honesty, I am not trying to vilify anyone. If you feel like I have been mean to you, you of course do not have to respond.

And yes, I did formulate the question in my own advantage, mostly because this exact question bothers me a lot. If it is truly easy to debunk me, please go ahead. Give me more reasons. I think your argument of children having an automatic ticket to heaven is an interesting one and I could go with it, although that would leave me with the question: Why can't they just peacefully die in their sleep, instead of having to suffer tremendously before they are finally "allowed" to die?

If I'm not mistaken, you mean that 1. the children are spared so to say from a life in a fallen world and get to live in a beautiful place forever and that 2. parents will learn from the experience of losing a child and help others who are going through the same process. I do believe in the butterfly effect and I think you're absolutely right when it comes to that. I however do not agree with your view on human nature, but I'm willing to go through with it to understand your argument. All in all, provided that we live on a planet filled with sinful, dreadful, horribly selfish people, I can get behind the idea that having those children die early deaths is a means of saving them from this planet and these terrible people. That still, however, beggs the question: Why can they not die peacefully? God has a place for them in heaven, but first wants them to suffer incredibly. That is hard, nigh impossible for me to understand.
