Funny thing is: Archangels can be any kind of angel. For example Michael is also a Power and also a Seraph. This is actually not a hierarchy of power in the narrow sense but rather a division for the area of responsibility. Angels have a rank depending on the task they are given temporarily or permanently. That means that the Seraphim are not more powerful than normal Angels from the 9th choir. They are just closer to god in terms of distance.

In very short summary, Plato had a plan/wanted to create society with 3 caste system. Workers, who produce food and craft, guards, who are supposed to keep order and protect city, and the scholas who were supposed to do all the thinking and decisions. Basically he wanted to make his profession, philosophers, the rulers or society. There are some similarities here not gonna lie, but Plato wasn’t the first or the last person to have this idea so I wouldnt say anyone copies his idea when making this hierarchy.

What most people don't realise is that de coelesti hierarchia wasn't even written by the historical Dionysius, who was the desciple of Paul. It was literally written by some random dude whose identity no one knows to this day, and theologians of both East and West had, for some reason, decided to believe that the work was written by historical Dionysius. So no, the notion of 9 orders is not correct. If anything, only Angels, Archangels, and Thrones are explicitly identified as angelic ranks. Seraphims and Cherubims are collective terms for angels, regardless of rank
