I love these videos. As a biker I love nipping through congested towns like there's no traffic jam. Just as much as I hate being stuck in traffic jams in my car!! LOL. Biking is such fun, and has been a constant source of the utmost feeling of pleasure and freedom for the last 43 accident free years. I feel sorry for younger generations who won't get to enjoy the same experience cos they all think petrol is causing Global-Warming, quietly ignoring the fact that it's actually been proven to be caused by the Earth moving slowly closer to the Sun! I remember working on a building site next to a university which was being visited by a member of the Royal family. The police locked the site down to traffic, we had deliveries waiting to leave, even after the VIP had arrived and was in the building they would not allow any traffic. movement.

I see it a lot on these videos of different officials being escorted, the point in these escorts is not so they can just skip traffic. There is a very real threat to most of these officials lives. We are fortunate in the UK, as we have relatively small convoys, nothing like the presidential motorcade where they weld manholes shut and close off entire streets. The general public are only inconvenienced for less than a minute, sometimes only a few seconds. So rather than saying that they should just "sit in traffic like anyone else" and that "no-one is more important than anyone else" these aren't just some rich folks, they hold power and are a target for terrorists. Some of you really need to look at our world today. I do however agree with the point of greener vehicles that people make, they should be using green vehicles or electric vehicles.

Exactly. And the convoy should never stop as it’s harder to attack a moving vehicule, even if it’s slow. Sometimes these convoys slow down just waiting for the SEG bikes to clear traffic. And it’s true that in the UK you don’t have big convoys. Even the french president in Paris travels in a pretty big convoy.

Unfortunately for this kind of work, green vehicles are a bad option for now. The battery life is way too small for combat situations. ICE is still far superior in this fact. I would not be surprised if they had long range aftermarket tanks in them for that reason alone.

We are assuming greener vehicles are actually green but when you actually look into it, it's not that clear cut. As for the importance of these people, I used to watch with awe and admiration at our western civilisation. Sadly many of these so called leaders have caused more death and destruction in the last 2 years, locking up and muzzling their citizens and trying to force medical mandates, I can only feel sick seeing these people freely travelling around and being supported by a police force (although there are still many good individuals within its ranks) who are out of touch with society.

@@neilnelson7603 a lot of the time. In countries that drive on the right they'll often have a fleet of chevrolets, and for the president and the VP they'll fly special vehicles from Washington. In the UK however we drive on the left so its more practical to use ours.

Yes. Spend any time in a big city and you become so used to sirens that you stop paying attention to them. This unit, who specialise in escort duties don't ever use sirens. They only use whistles. You don't hear whistles in cities often, so they grab attention far better than a siren.

The bikes would be far more conspicuous and safer if all the blue warning lights were the same size as the forward facing lights (they look like 3x2 LEDs) and all synchronised. Lights unsynchronised and flashing randomly make it harder for motorists to quickly track the bike's location and rate of change of position. This is particularly dangerous for bikes which are small and can move very quickly. The Brits need to re-think their warning lighting design (doesn't look designed at the moment, looks like an electrician just threw some lights at a bike and fixed them where they landed), but at least they don't confuse with multiple colours.

I understand what you’re saying but that’s pretty naive to think that. Most normal people yes I’d agree with you 100% but the reality of life is rather different. Some people simply are more important, or should I say have more important jobs which have far greater responsibilities than you’re average tax payer. Therefor they either require greater protection due to the nature of their job, position or greater time management.
