Looking forward to further study of the Master System. Wonder Boy III is one of its best games - but I remember how frustrating that opening maze is haha. I’ve also never seen Line of Fire before, but it looks great. It’s supposed to have a mode for the Sega 3D glasses too. Imagine driving over that sick ramp in 3D! Mind blowing in the late 80s. Dragons Trap is awesome man. Give it another shot, but on the Turbo. Dragons Curse is a much better version. Dynastic Hero, AKA Wonder Boy in Monster World is one of the best games on the TGCD.

I could wear glasses. But I found it messed with my field of view for the bonus of seeing ultra finite detail on all things from any distance like a hawk. But I don't want or need to zee like a hawk with increased viewing angles. You can see every little defect on peoples faces and it's not useful.

Line of Fire was not a game in was familiar with. It’s cool to find obscure “on-rail shooters”. The games that come to mind where the SMS really shows it had better hardware are: Paperboy Double Dragon Shinobi California Games Ghostbusters Rampage You won’t find a better shooter on the NES than the SMS port of R-Type. Also… both Power Strike games are phenomenal. Overall I have more nostalgia for the NES and its library panned out better because Nintendo monopolized all the best developers. I would have loved to see what the SMS could have done if all the developers spent their resources on SMS instead of NES. The SMS I feel has way better hardware. Similar style games on both consoles hands down looked better on the SMS but didn’t always play or sound as good. Phantasy Stars graphics just run circles around 99% of the NES library. Outside of its lackluster overworld graphics… everything else is stunning and almost looks like a Genesis game. I think the only NES games that come even close is Mr Gimmick and that very late release Kirby game which were really the NES’s swan song.

sega was only better than nintendo in 1991 when sonic came out. once sonic novelty wore off nintendo snes was as good orbetter than sega 1992 1993 and forever after that. 1991 i give the win to sega genesis and sonic. mario 3 is better than mario world. i guess there was one more year sega beat nintendo thats like 1999 the dreamcast was quite dope for a few months until nobody cared about anything except ps2 months after dc came out. ps2 destroyed gamecube and xbox

Heck nah.. Sonic 3 & Knuckles locked on was concidered the best. That, Gunstar Heros, and Thunder Force 4 are games that can't run on snes. The 3rd Thunderforce is on Snes called Thunder Spirits and autofire is in a hidden options because when turned on the game slows to half speed. As where Sega it defaults on with no slowdown. Sega's faster processor makes a difference for many games. Snes has mode 7, more color, and great Nintendo exclusives. But Sega easily holds its own. I prefer prefer Virtua Racing over Stunt FX. Virtua Racing is the only Sega game with a special chip added, as where Snes has over a hundred games with added chips, Snes was designed for it because of its lack of power. Most third party companies didn't want to pay for additional chips, and suffered for it. If a game is on both snes and Genesis, it almost always plays better on Genesis. People point out Top Gear 2 as the 1 game thats better on Snes, but actually it's faster on Genesis. Slightly better graphics and sound on Snes doesn't make games funner. Speed and responsiveness does.
