Hi everyone I'm working on a completely NEW and improved design for the Dreamcast Classic Edition but I am running into issues with SEGA. I have been in contact with SEGA and asked for a license to make just Dreamcast cases that buyers could build how ever they choose and this is what SEGA responded with.... "Unfortunately we are unable to grant a license and must formally request for you not to continue as described within your correspondences. Best Regards,SEGA Support" I then responded to SEGA and I asked what could I do to meet there criteria and get a license and I am still waiting for a response. Because of this legally I can not sell any Dreamcast products unless I get approval from SEGA. I believe SEGA is not realizing the power of their Dreamcast and is just wasting a great opportunity to make a comeback!! I will keep you updated with any changes.

VERY COOL DESIGN!!!! When you mentioned getting the DC on day one it brought back great memories for me. I have pre ordered 2 game systems in my life time. The first was the Sega Dreamcast and I NEVER regretted it for even one moment! The second was the Playstation 2 and for the first 9 months or so that I owned it the PS2 was nothing more than a PS1 a DVD player and a stand for my Dreamcast to sit on L.O.L. Such a shame that the PS2 hype crushed the Dreamcast. I believe The DC had a lot of fight left in it. Luckily it is still supported by fans with new games still coming out from time to time.

Good morning 8 Bit, let me start by saying great design work because not only did you take the time to 3D print the console but you also took the time to make a controller and memory card! Those who have never tried to 3 D print and sand then paint and add components that move together in such a small device don’t understand the painstaking hours and attention to detail it takes knowing that once it’s put up in front of the world it will be scrutinized and bashed like you just whipped this thing out in an hour!!! Kudos to you for the wonderful memories you’ve resurfaced for me in my childhood with Dreamcast and Sega...please keep up the good work and if you decide to sell these please put me on your list and I’m sure my friends who have always been big Dreamcast fans will be on board (would also make a great Christmas gift) to purchase themselves one or two. Only thing I’d like to see in your console is maybe the ability to plug in a Dreamcast controller for full nostalgia...lol...thanks again for a moment of my childhood relived

The hear say is wrong. Dreamcast didn't die due to advertising or being overshadowed. In fact many people brought their PS2 back saying they enjoyed their Dreamcast a lot more still. HOWEVER, pirating was a new craze for the general public when it came to consoles. And thanks to Microsoft's bad handling of the OS for the Dreamcast, YES I know it's a sega system but they had Microsoft do it's OS, just look at the windows logo on the corner of your old DC, IF YOU HAVE ONE, and it was extremely easy to trick past it's region lock and anything else. Sure you can pirate for other consoles now, but it was such a wild craze at a time that the hardware was well before it's time even, that people pirated the games so much in the USA that they stopped releasing the USA DC versions and went right to the PS2 where, for a while, it was harder to pirate for. Until they figured that one out too.... However with the love of the hardware, people in the USA doing it just SO much, and on top of that at a time where new hardware was now landing, the combination robbed the glorious Dreamcast of it's worthwhile time. Ever since, Sega has been taking it's frustrations out on American consumers, a stereotype that continues to lurk in it's upper management that if we cater to America they'll likely ruin things for the rest of us. AKA them. As such through the stereotype, which wasn't entirely wrong, but hardly appropriate to hold a grudge this long, has held back most things other than games they figured wouldn't really matter so much if people hacked them or the likes, and as such we've not gotten Border Break, and PSO2 was held back despite the promise that it was coming, where SEGA told a rather dishonoring lie which now plagues the SEGA brand when mixed with it's hideous treatment of it's USA fans due to the actions of others. However, very few know the in depths of these facts, and I could prove it all day long and people may still not believe it, but it's how it went down, and hopefully SEGA's management claiming it wants to do better for the USA is really truthful and not just a stunt to trick USA players into buying more sonic tittles just to bleed them for a little while longer while continuing to give them NOTHING of what they've asked for. AKA Border Break and PROPER access to PSO2. Meanwhile, time is up for SEGA. Border Break has finally come to the PS4 in Japan and thus run out of excuses as to why NOT bring it to the USA as it's no longer an arcade exclusive. SEGA will have to truly start making USA releases of what's been asked for, or the claim by management is going to be thrown back in their face as they continue to do nothing, and thus the final official lie will be called out. Such is likely to cause a near Konami sized rift in their stocks and consumer trust, and after that catering to their small world demographic will not save them. This is the time for SEGA to prove what it can do, and also what it has and that it can contend with other Eastern designers still who are robbing their place in the sun with ease, and that of other western designers, that themselves are leaving a wide open hole for the eastern gaming market to make it's huge comeback, which IT HAS already been doing. Sink or swim, SEGA. You were robbed once, but it's time to grow up and show the west what once put you where you were. If not, your final sink is coming. Too bad nearly no one will read this and realize the small piece of gaming history that has been overshadowed with the lies of 'oh it was bad marketing' for far too damn long. That's NOT how it went down... Not at all....
@HumorousLOL5 жыл бұрын
Dude, stop. It's not a lie, that's actually what happened. I haven't heard of one person bringing back their PS2, that is such bullshit. Get it a rest.

@robinmattheussen23957 жыл бұрын
Guys, it is not FULLY emulated (what does that even mean?). Saturn emulation is very much work in progress, and results vary from game to game. Personally, I prefer using the Mednafen Saturn core, which is currently the best in my opinion, and has seen a lot of active development the last months. Mednafen Saturn does require some horsepower unsurprisingly. Yabause isn't very accurate as of right now, and doesn't see a whole lot of development I think. SSF is in a better state, but it is also closed-source and Windows only, which blows. Yabause has been forked into ouYabause for Android compatibility, so there may be some future for the emulator on ARM, but currently it's pretty much unusable and I believe it even comes with ads, so stay away from it.
@vasileios63017 жыл бұрын
