I liked it. Boss battle is completely crap though... It looks awesome and feels like arcade, but changing the perspective on the user (side view in Boss fights vs normal top down when you're facing normal enemies) was extremely disorienting. Add in lousy controls, useless shield that doesn't block anything, inability to squat or dodge anything, inability to heal in battle, makes for a really crappy experience. I gave up at the second or third boss, that shoots a bunch of fireballs that you can only destroy with this awkward upward sword attack, after dying for the umpteenth time.

Fun fact: If you play the song called "Name entry" (third in this video), it will continue to modulate forever, and eventually it starts making crazy weird white noise and bleeps because the pitch is too high for the renderer.

My 9 favourites here: Opening; Statts; Erias; Village A; Shop (Village); Dungeon (1); Dungeon 2; Jiji Theme; Light Song. "Boss B", "Ending" and "Last City" share the prize as the most 1980s-styled themes.
@calebchild44675 жыл бұрын
This is a pretty good soundtrack. It doesn't make use the Genesis's high number of voices to provide the high-energy tracks the systems is usually known for, but it delivers such a strong focus good melodies to more than make up for that. Also, there is a lot of variety in the instrumentation, with a lot of well-chosen sounds to work with a fantasy theme. Particularly impressive for an earlier Genesis title before GEMS was created.
