got to test ride one this afternoon at AlienRides with their demo... and while I don't usually care much for scooters.. this thing was just impressive as hell. its tank-like build quality and size makes this such a comfortable ride. it doesn't have quite the top speed as some other major high performance scooters, but the various features and build quality are way up there.. it's big, bulky, and heavy... but it's loaded with fun.. there's plenty of torque and power.

I have the GT2 transformers limited edition and a recent firmware update now gives both Gt1 and Gt2 electronic braking and regen braking. It works well. If you purchase the transformer edition, you get a Bluetooth speaker that will allow you to change the horn sounds. You also have gasoline engine sounds that match to LLP the throttle and it is really convincing. I love this machine and I love your video.

In terms of engineering Segway GT2 and GT1 has nailed it. I believe they are the Apple Iphone of scooters . In 2006 when blackberry Verizon and everybody else came close to making the phone that we know today Apple did just that in 2007. It was a moment in memory when I said "They did it". Well I don't own an Apple iPhone I can appreciate the engineering that went behind it. The same with the Segway GT series. Congrats to Ninebot. Bravo.

@@AlienRides well honestly the TC in VESC mainly makes sure that if one wheel loses traction it doesn't spin up much faster than the other one, like when you wheelie on a cheap Chinese escoot the front wheel will spin up to ridiculous speeds and get worn out much faster when it hits the ground again, with VESC's traction control that doesn't happen and front wheel tires last much longer that wouldn't work while Both wheels are slipping at the same rpm though, as it's not that dynamic, it just sees one spins up ... faster and limits the power of it basically to not do that, i'm sure it was mainly made for multi wheeled electric skateboards so you don't get pulled sideways cause one wheel slips, but it works for the reason i mentioned above aswell

Hello first great video, I don’t know how the heck I didn’t run into it when I was researching the GT series before buying it from you. I think I talked to you and your wife on the phone yesterday after I bought the GT-1 Sunday from you. Y’all had nothing but good things to say about the GT series and your wife told me to check out your video on them. Also anyone reading these comments that are looking to buy one of these Scooterss I’d encourage you to buy it from Alien Rides and not from Segway directly. First of all I paid less then MSRP 2999 for my GT1 $2750 , and not only that they We’re very nice to me matter fact, I actually called them twice Asking questions about the scooter. Coming up from a kick scooter like My Segway max G 30 in LP 30 it’s a big leap in performance and in price so I had a few questions needless to say. Second phone call I talk to the person with the most experience on the GT one which was the woman you see in the video riding it. She’s spent about 10 or 15 minutes just explaining every cool thing she experienced while she was making the video and riding the scooter. Extremely nice to me. The sale had already been done. Never Rushed me off the phone because I’m sure she had more important things to do than convince me that I made the right decision buying a GT one instead of the GT two. all in all very nice people. Her husband was very nice to me the first Phone call I made about shipping practices just good people. And I’m happy that I actually bought it from an American owned Business rather than buying directly from A Chinese manufacturer. I’m talking to you guys on Tuesday so I don’t have my scooter yet I live in Tampa Florida and not anywhere near California where it’s being shipped from so I can’t tell you how I like the scooter but I can tell you how I like the people that actually sold it to me. Anyway that’s all I got thank you.

I do think that a 72V GT2 would be very interesting, but I don't think that it's required, these have quite strong acceleration.
@Antony--DIY2 жыл бұрын
@@AlienRides I expect and believe to your answer because you are a speed janki like me 😁...!! But with 52v you can't have high top speed.... We both know more voltage - more speed, more amber - more acceleration (strong, power)... When i see the motors 7 inches (inside the winding is bigger with more copper, 6cm magnets again but bigger, heavier) i was 90% sure that the scooter is 72v the GT2 and 60v the GT1... When they realise the specs of the scooter i wasn't believe what i was reading....🧐🤷 Anyway Segway is on the top brands names, so definitely they have a plan!!! @@Antony--DIY Possibly to maintain a certain range capability or to insure no voltage sag on extended higher speed runs?....you have to admit, them only being 52volt is almost a flex move on their part, before seeing this video, I would not have believed you could achieve the performance numbers they were getting here, especially considering the weight of these scooters. what I learned is there is more to acheiving high performance than just bigger motors and higher voltage setups.
@Antony--DIY2 жыл бұрын
@@EssPhour Of course and I admit them!!!! We are taking about Segway...!! It's a "cleaver" scoot and all the playing is in Controllers (how they send the power)!! But for hi speed 44 miles isn't "HI"... Top speed need voltage, that i say and about motors... The winding of these motors has more copper, can use for better acceleration or for more top speed!! Overall my scooter when i buy it was 52v... FOR SURE not go as this Prince!!!!😁 I believe they will go to bigger voltage, but for start "checking" the market to see how will go...

Hey Alien Rides. I would be very interested in learning more about the behind the scenes information about the segway GT series scooters.. I work for a repair center for electric scooters/hoverboards/skateboards that "a large extended warranty company who shall not be named publicly" sends these products in to for repair under extended warranty.. In preparation for working on these im curious what kinds of weak points you may have noticed with this scooter.. Likely failures (if any), and if there will be parts support from segway for these GTs given the questionable Segway track record for service in the past.. Also perhaps an off the record chat about expanding service for scooters like these.. Great Video! Keep up the amazing work!

We're still trying to figure that out ourselves! So far there have been relatively few problems with the GT scooters, and most manifest in physical damage from shipping. Thanks for the request. I would love to review every scooter, but no plans to review that one yet, maybe some day. 👽🖖

No clunks, no wallowing suspension, the smoothest motor driver algorithms and hardware, THIS is the future, and this sets the bar for others to try to meet.

Completely agree, will be interesting to see if any other company can catch up to the deep feature set this scooter has.

Absolutely ridiculous to call this any kind of super scooter ridiculous is what comes to mind. No speed. Nice look but no speed. Got a long way to go.

My question is, are the tires easy to swap in case you need to replace from flats? Also would have liked to see The headlight at night.
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, we should've done a headlight test for sure. Most scooters, this one included, do not have super easy to fix flat tires, but it is totally doable. 👽🖖

Besides the tires which I know you guys will have do you guys plan on offering other parts for the scooter in case something breaks? What I’ve heard is that Segway is going to sell parts to allow self repair but I rather buy them from you guys regardless.

Yes, we plan on stocking everything essential, and our parts order is being processed now. We will also provide for our industry leading two year warranty. 👽🖖

Can you do a PEV review on rainproof or rain resistant PEVs ??
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
I gotta make that video. We usually try to cover rain riding for PEVs which claim to be waterproof, but unfortunately it doesn't rain often in California. Maybe we need an indoor rain area 😅👽🖖
@benjaminwashington20872 жыл бұрын
Im from California too, San Diego, we have 1-2 months of rain and in NorCal its like 2-3 months of rain. Though its not alot, my last PEV broke due to the rain.
@benjaminwashington20872 жыл бұрын
Hey Alien Rides, do you know the IP of the Rion Apex? I want to know how resistant it is to water before buying it because if its not I dont want to destroy it from rain by accident, like I did my previous PEV.
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
@@benjaminwashington2087 the Rion has zero waterproofing. If it so much as looks at a drop of water it explodes.

IMO 45 mph is a good speed for most scooters since it will not tempt riders to jump on the highways, but the price and heavy weight are too close to an actual motorcycle like a GROM that does 58mph and the GROM is road legal, has bigger tires and a seat for long rides. Also, not many people can safely climb stairs with 120Lbs and the *GT2 is HUGE* - just look at the size compared to the young lady in the intro. Personally I would get the cheapest Vsett 10+ or Wolf Warrior X that are both under $2k, can do the same top speed and weigh less than 85Lbs vs 120Lbs for the Segway.
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
Yup, all accurate and good points. The Segway is like a Cadillac though, and though it's much bigger, dang is it smooth compared to other scooters. 👽🖖
@MadLadsAnonymous2 жыл бұрын
Man, I might have to seriously look at the GT2! Questions: 1) how do y'all handle potholes? Any concerns, since so many in SF seem huge and dangerous? 2) Does AR carry the tires for these scooters and what's it like to replace them? 3) How fast do the scooters charge?
@AlienRides2 жыл бұрын
I think it's a great scooter and you'd love it. It probably handles pot holes the best out of all of the scooters, just given how big and beefy the suspension is. We are going to be getting the original Segway tires for these, which we don't have yet, but we do have the same size tires that are used for other 11" scooters. It can take a while to charge them but we are also looking at getting fast chargers. 👽🖖
What does this mean for RION? Are they able to create a scooter even more powerful or compete with Segway?

What are all the differences between gt1 and gt2? I'm okay with paying 1000 extra if there were much better features or safety in gt2. If it's only speed difference, I'd rather buy the gt1. Is there dynamic traction control only in gt2?
@igot5onit4234 ай бұрын
I own the gt2 and it's 2 motors compared to 1 on the gt1. It's got a bigger battery and the Traction control works good on the gt2 cuz it has a front motor.. Wait till it's around 2k on Amazon then get the gt2 cuz your gonna Eventually want to upgrade anyways to something faster the gt2 goes 43.. while the gt1 goes 37 Also there's returns on Amazon for 30 days if you don't like it... Best of luck I love mine and it's my go to Vehicle.
