What a charming re-telling of the Orpheus myth! The only thing missing is that Orpheus' head and lyre floated to the north shore of the island of Lesvos. Thus, Lesvos became the island of poetry and the home of the poets Alcaeus and Sappho. Thank you for this.

Thanks for watching, Kirk! You are right! This might be a small but important detail, but we had to leave some things outside to have a short and entertaining video. All the details are included in the book upon which this animated series is based, i.e., "The Song of the Lyre," available at luthieros.com/product/the-song-of-the-lyre/ In case you haven’t already, subscribe here to stay tuned, as more videos like this premiere on our channel every week: kzbin.info

I'm new to the lyre. I can already see clearly it is so, so much more than a just a sweet stringed instrument. Thank you Seikilo family for another peek into this vast & wonderful world of the lyre.

I love this video especially because the Lyra I have now is called Orpheus. And I love it because his lyre and the head had reached to island of Lesbos which Sappho lived whom I love also. Thank you again and always for creating this beauty. And I think I hear Thanasis and Theodoros playing if I'm not mistaken. Just lovely.

Thanks for watching and for all your support, Masayo! During the video, you can listen to lyre performances by Lina Palera and Theodore Koumartzis, along with vocals by the female polyphonic ensemble Perperúna. At the very end of the video, you can listen, indeed, to Thanasis Kleopas and Theodore's performance titled Vacania (along with Jordan Koumartzis on the double bass). Here it is: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bWSnkIKritiVgck
