I've been on the fence about this watch. I immediately liked the styling, but then I was kinda hot and cold with the different colour-ways. The grey dial was my original favourite, and now after watching your unboxing I think I need to stick with my gut. It looks great, and I love some of the strap options you were teasing. Even this SRPE61 is more "higher end entry level" in the Seiko world with such a retail price. The brushed bezel looks great. Might pick one up. And Marc from Long Island Watch opened one up and showed alignment is now done with tabs that keep everything straight.

I don't know really know how watch prices work but usually after a while watches are sold under the MSRP right?

@@sadowl5307 depends on the model. Models from fashion brands or mass produced watches will likely lose value. Most models from brands like Rolex gain value, because Rolex as a manufacturer is very good ah limiting production based on demand. Seiko also has a few models that are going up in price, mostly ones that have been discontinued yet are still very sought after. We’re seeing some of this with for instance the SARB033, and actually to some extent the SKX line of watches.

It's averaging 5 seconds fast every 24 hours so I set it 2.5 seconds slow and it averages out throughout the day. I have to wear two watches now like Marc from LongIslandWatch because I love this dial so much. Thanks for the review.

Great choice with the brushed bezel! Too bad they didnt make the brushed bezel for all versions so you dont have to get an aftermarket bracelet.

Hadn't thought about it, but looks like my 6309-7049 turtle after I knocked the bezel off diving in the keys. The reason I won't own another Seiko ? They do little things like changing the size of the bezel by 1mm ,and discontinue making the bezel. I've had my turtle for 36 years. Going in for a service, power reserve is way down, and it's gaining 10 minutes a day. That's ok,just got my Omega 300m coaxial, so I'm good.👍

I love your channel, one of my favourite watch channels. I do wish however ppl would stop refering these new Seiko's as 5KX's . The SKX is a legend, and I like these new watches but they are of no relation to the SKX. Sorry I don't mean to sound angry. 👍 Maybe I just feel a bit protective towards the SKX for some reason, it has that effect on some people.😂
