Hey mate. You need to send that to Adrian at Vintage Time Australia - he’s an expert on this model. One of my all time favorite Seiko’s!

Talk to Spencer Klein at Kleinvintagewatchrepair. He specializes in these pieces too. They are continuing to go up in value. I'd get him to service it and get an Uncle Seiko strap for Z199 bracelet for it.

Great watch, I have the same from 1980 and it still is running after changing battery every time it stop working. I have tried to get a new blue/read bezel insert ring since it's full of scratches and color fading like on your watch, but so far nobody seems to have spare parts to this old model.

Hi Bjoern, I love my Seiko. I had it serviced, including a new crystal and bezel insert. Please check out the video below of when it came back from the Seiko specialist. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaGydpSArKd6baM Here is a shop I found with a quick search. seikoboy.com/?mod=product&sec=item&task=detail&id=95 Also I'm pretty sure that parts from the newer SKX007 and SKX009 will fit as the case etc are the same. Double check just in case I'm wrong though. All the best of luck with your 7548. They are a wonder full watch.

@@bobby2292 Your watch looks great after replacing glass and bezel insert. I am located in Thailand and don't trust any watch shops here that's why I'm doing it myself. I already polish away all the scratches on the glass and it looks like new. Used some paste I bought online togheteter with 1400 sandpaper. I also found the bezel insert (38mm X 31,5mm) online but it was flat and will not fit my watch who has an angle down where it meet the glass. Maybe it will fit with some modification.

@@bjoernandersen8287 I know what you mean about trusting repairers. I live in Australia and although it's a big place with probably lots of watch repairers, I would only trust one to do any work on my watch. That's Vintage Time Australia based in Adelaide. I don't know where he got the bezel insert from but it fits like the original. It wouldn't hurt to get in touch with him and ask. He may even be able to supply the bezel that you require.

Cool piece. Looks like the watch needs a full service. The fact that the/date gets hung up, probably means that some of the bits that drive those functions are worn out and need to be replaced. Don’t give up on it. Once you serviced it , it will be good for years to come. I own a couple of these watches from JDM and non-JDM markets. Absolutely amazing value of your money. Quick tip, do not cheap out on the battery you use in this watch. I was recommended to use Murata or Maxell as they do not leak.

Crikey. You had me worried there for a minute. It was concerning to think I might find myself in a Commando Unit.

That'll teach me. I couldn't bring myself to say that I'd volunteered for a shed full of pain and misery with a heap of satisfaction at the end of the tunnel.

@@bobby2292 Don't you have to head west for Selection for the real pain and misery and satisfaction?
@bobby22924 жыл бұрын
@@Plexcom60 I think that attempting to answer that one, I'd be opening the biggest can of worms I've ever opened in my life. I'd say that both selection courses would exert a heap of pain and misery in different ways due to the roles that each regiment plays. I know that each regiment is looking for different characteristics in their soldiers. I can't speak from personal experience but I had a work colleague who while serving in the RAAF attempted the SASR selection course. He passed successfully but upon completion, wasn't accepted but was offered a spot in Commandos. Why? He never found out to his satisfaction. If you're wondering about the different roles, I'm sure there will be something on the appropriate ADF websites. The worms are probably starting to spill from the can.

This watch needs a battery change. I'm wearing my Seiko 7548 700b at this time. I bought mine in New Zealand in 1984. It has been everywhere with me. We're now residing in the USA now.

I did two more videos on my watch. One when it came back from Vintage Time Australia after it had been fully serviced and had a new crystal and bezel insert added. Here is the link to that video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaGydpSArKd6baM
