It's a beautiful watch Sanjay. If my wrist's were smaller it would be mine also. My favorite is the SLA055, it made me not want a Tudor,Omega, or Rolex. I find the Seiko design language more beautiful than more expensive watches.

I really hope you get into vintage dress watches. A 32-34mm gold dress watch would fit you perfectly. You get what you like though, just saying on your frame, skin tone etc. a gold vintage piece would look killer.

Nice video, one thing the 6L37 which is a bit more robust than the 6L35 NOT the 6R is due to it being a diver so Seiko wanted to work in the shock resistance of the new 6L37, however it doesn't have "MEMS" technology which I do appreciate from an engineering stand point me being a engineer mechanical system of operations. 017, 037, 043 etc all have this superior escapement design and meterá.

NIce review. I have a MM300 and always reverse wind the crown a little to find the "click/bite" point before screwing it in. Just the nature of the beast for a dive watch. Seiko are usually great value/quality for money in this segment.

I have the SJE093 and find the screw down crown feel to be very good. As others recommended, try pushing the crown in with a light pressure, then turn coubger clockwise and you will feel the thread click/line up, then carefully screw the crown down. Once lined up, it should feel very smooth as it screws down.

Great video, my friend. Though I sold my SJE093 on, I will always defend it and sing it's praises. It just isn't nearly as comfortable for me as the FXD, so I didn't feel the need to own both. I'm afraid the FXD has sort of killed the hobby for me as of late. Coming up on 7 straight weeks of wearing and I have no desire to add any other watches or wear anything else. Not saying it will last forever, but it has been refreshing to put a bit of a damper on the obsession and just wear one watch.

Haha that’s so crazy to hear. But I’m glad you’re able to put the obsession aside for a bit😛 The SJE and Pelly 39 will likely remain brothers for the foreseeable future in my collection. (I’m a new man!!!)

The reason the crown can be a little finicky is because the case/crown tube threads haven't been rounded nicely. The edge of the tube still has a very slight burr - which doesn't engage the crown 100%. When anything, be it a crown tube or not, the edge has to be slightly rounded or the threads won't engage well.

I own this watch. I also own the SJE089. These are my two favorite Seiko watches. Near perfect in every way. The only thing I wish, is that the SJE093 had a 39mm case size and a 20mm lug width.

Yeah it definitely is on the pricey side. The 6L37 is a premium movement and the finishing of the watch is very nice. It’s also a very special watch in its own right as well

Agree, their watches are way too big, thick, and bulky 👎 Plus they have the worst movements and qc in the game. I quit buying their junk years ago

I hope you are able to review the sje101j1. It comes out next January. I think that watch will be better than this. Better size and it comes with a bracelet. Google for photos. Let me know what you think. I think they start about 3200. I like the black dial one.

I'm not sure how I feel about that watch. At first glance it looks nice. But when you look at it carefully, it looks like a mashup of different watches. Looks like a 62MAS mixed with an Omega Aquaterra. That in itself isn't a bad thing. But then they use the Marine Master name. I'm confused why they would do that. I'm guessing this is meant to compete with a Rolex Submariner in terms of size and wearability.

such a great watch, just wish someone made a high quality rubber or fkm strap that's 19mm AND short length, since Seiko didn't bother to do this for $3500 (OEM strap is super long, oddly for this small watch).

It's a dive watch. Strap is supposed to be long, in case you want to wear it over a diving suit.

I have my SLA043 on a Meraud Tropic Regular, which is 20mm but fits the SLA043’s 19mm lug spacing, and is the perfect length for my 6.5 inch wrist. It’s also very comfortable, though I wish it had more closely spaced holes to fine-tune the fit.

Seiko should have just made the new 62mas , in 3 size options , 38mm , 40mm and 42mm. Offered a bracelet or rubber strap as an other option. They could have made it in 3 colourways , grey, black and blue. If they priced it right at around 2k , they would have blown the competitors away. But they keep making different options , some things better , some things worse. Tudor made the black bay in a chunky 41 mm. It wasnt for everyone so they made the 58 in 39mm and slimmed it down. Then they added a 37mm bb54. Everybody was catered for and tudor have had massive success because of it. Seiko need to take note. Your new watch is lovely , but its not for bigger men , so seiko need to sort this, instead of all these limited editions that vary in quality and materials used. Glad you love it sanjay, they are lovely watches, for sure.
