I own 2 and absolutely love them. I actually did put a top hat sapphire crystal on one of them other than that it is all original and the other one that I bought is all 100% original one left alone. I had actually gone that route with more than a few watches I own. It's just nice to have one that's all original if you're going to mod one.

have a modded 023 for many years (black day/date). Fantastic watch. Very accurate, comfortable, perfect size for me and thin enough to not mess with a sleeve. Underrated imo.

Just ordered up my 2nd of this model. I absolutely love them. My 1st is all original and the most recent has the original bracelet and has not been tinkered with. I basically got it for the bracelet. I WISH I'd seen this video a while ago to ask the sale details. Great watches with simple, workhorse movements. Great aesthetics and size. Great video. Thanks.

37mm best for my wrist :) I have a SKX023 with a stainless steel strap and a SKX025 with a french flag nato strap. Haven't found a design I like more than this one for a classic diver.

I wear the skx031 and cant tell you how much I beat this thing up and it just takes it. Great beater watch. I would prefer the 37mm for daily use and comfort. thanks for posting

This review brings back memories, This was my first watch, bought with my own money on my first stable job. This was rare even at that time in the Philippines. Wore it for so long, one issue in my case was, it tend to run "fast", had to adjust it back like 10 to 15 minutes back every now and then. One thing thing for sure, this watch kept me "ahead of time" hehehe

bought one off ebay sent to official seiko to change to original seiko hours and minutes arm so far works fine for me. i changed to leather strap and it still looks good on me

This watch is very comfortable. I love the screw down crown as well. I personally enjoy the crown being at the 3 o’clock position.

Purchased 3 of those i have them all modded 1 no date vintage with its original 7s26 1 gmt nh34 and 1 plain black sub nh35 mod. I sold my tudor and oris because i dont even wear them anymore. these are the watches i use the most and it doesnt even worry me to bump or nick it its so sturdy and it keeps time really well specially when serviced by a good technician.

The bezel i use is the original its hard to find mods so i had them custom made for me specially the bezel insert and the bracelet end links. This watch is really rare like you said the new old stock all original of this cost about 350$ in our place Philippines.

If head only and aftermarket parts they usually cost around 60 to 80$

I bought a new, gray market SKX031 around 2006 or so. It's a 39mm version of this SKX023. It was a really good size, had good fit and finish, and looked great on a NATO. However, a little over a year later, the rotor fell off the movement. At the time I didn't know much about watches and never took it into a watchmaker to have them look at it. I just sold it off. They can still be had for very little on Ebay, so I'm thinking of getting one again, as it's a great modding platform.

@@threehandhunter You can build even better SKX013's now, case kits etc. Even with a 3 O'clock crown, I have one that will never get moded, but I always deeply coveted owning a mint SKX015 "Pepsi" version too.

I have the 023J. That is also 37mm diameter. I thought the 023 was bigger diameter? Does anyone know the difference?

I think the 033 and 031 are 40mm. J means you have a JDM which is awesome !
