While I get that the gauntlets are supposed to be a challenge it feels a little bit off. While I beat Gyoubu and Butterfly effortlessly, Genichiro sometimes decide to go full on Sakura mode even if I pressure him. The step up in difficulty is just weird and you actually can't improve that well, because you always have to take your time beating the prior bosses again.

@@benerd1013 use the fire tool (I forgot the name of it) and then r1 for fire buff make sure u have the skill for it. It will help allot . and make sure that you perfect normal genichiro . Last don't let hm breathe👿 I hope this helps

I did the same thing with isshin. I watched a guide to help me beat him and I couldnt follow the steps to the letter so I just went sicko mode on him, mikiri counter every thrust he does, and uno reverse his lightning.

Thank you for the tip! I can beat first two phases normally without much issue (bait Sakura dance by playing passively, block first two hits, dodge third and ichimonji double so you never run out of posture. Repeat until done). But the phase 3 has been giving me a lot of trouble. I especially appreciate that you spelled out the rhythm for attacks verbally, it makes it a lot easier for me to catch.

Nah I’m done with the this game, spent a good 50 tries on this boss when I beat him first try on my first play through. He takes all my life’s with one Sakura attack and then doesn’t give me the chance to heal. I was planning on doing a second play through but this guy ruined it for me.

That first part still works. I screwed up the timing and got killed, but it works. Just need to keep on time with L1-R1.

great vid! the glitch still works in case if anyone is having trouble with the r1 l1 thing. IT IS IMPORTANT YOU DO NOT HAVE ANY COMBAT ARTS EQUIP. then just do 2 r1s into l1 then r1 and l1 and you repeat from there. Hope this helps anyone!

For 3rd stage instead of having to time the r1 attack, change the combat art to nightjar slash and as soon as u mikiri counter his 1st hit, spam the nightjar and it will beat him the same way but without the timing and possible mistake. Nightjar is perfectly timed if spammed continuously until his death blow pops up

That guys tough, took me the longest of all bosses to beat, once I made it to him I replayed him alone in the memories menu or whatever is what called until I could memorize every move he possibly had and could see them coming as soon as he moved a certain way, only after doing that about 100 times, and I could beat him every time, I finally went to the guantlet and when I got to him it was easy. I perfectly parried everything he had or dodged perfectly for everything else and could jump and land in the right spots to wait for the right moment to unleash the mortal blade on him and besides the mortal blade all I would do is perfect parrys, lightning reversals and mikiri counters. If you can parry his moves and know exactly when to dodge or jump and what range from him will force him into certain attack patterns, his 3 phase fight will be about 10-15 seconds long each. After doing this over and over and finally moving to ng+'s his regular end game fight seemed harder lol. Sekiro is the one game that requires actually skill to complete, just relentless practice and memorizing. The best way to beat him is to memorize every move he makes, when u practice him don't try to fight so much, try to just watch his footsteps and what arm is moving in what direction, practice knowing from his moves what move you need to make and when he has a 2-3 open moment from finishing his combo that's the time to mortal blade him from behind. Everything else is just a waiting game, parry jump and dodge, yearn for his lightning attack so u can throw it back in his face everytime dealing the most damage, lightning reversal and mortal blade when u land, mikiri counter every time. He will eventually seem easy when you know every move he has

Apparently the gauntlets are NOT affected by attack power or ng+ at all so whenever you do these it will be the same. That being said, the stun lock in phase 3 never worked for me, immediately after the first hit he drew his sword and just went full force on me every time

Gauntlets aren't effected by ng+ or your attack power. His ng+7 comment doesn't apply.

I don’t typically take the time to comment on videos but I wanna say that I’m not sure if he did this on the 100th take to make it seem easy to pull off or something but this “cheese” doesn’t work at all, the boss will use either a thrust or a sweeping attack that will give the red kanji sign that shit is uninterruptable so it doesn’t matter how many fucking times I spam r1 l1 he’s going to stab and immediately follow up until I’m instantly dead because your in a corner and he breaks your posture. Don’t waste your time with this video

Does this mean that I have the same attack power here in ng+ 7 as ng? Does genichero stay the same or get stronger. I went to ng+ to get the final 2 prayer beads from the hirata estate thinking that the gauntlet would be unaffected. Was that wrong? Have I made things harder for myself? This guys annihilating me. Mastered most if not all other bosses in main game, but getting nowhere here.

That what i called a lie. He never locks in that door, quite often he goes to the right of the statue, and then when im trying do it all over again and finally he is in the right spot, Genichiro deos unblocakble thrust or slam (it's random) followed by sakura dance...

Wait. This is weird. I did exactly as you did, but when I pull up umbrella and start moving towards the corner, his attacks are damaging my vitality. Even though I have umbrella up. I’m talking about his normal attacks btw. So I died very quickly… I resurrected, and continued your strat in the corner. And it did seem to work. But I messed up timing of L1/R1, and he finished me off. But anyways, how is it that I was getting damaged, but you weren’t in this clip? Is it because your clip is WITH kuro’s charm? (I’m running charmless).

It works just count in your head 1 and 2 strike on 2 You tap L1 on 1 then let go of L1 and tap R1 on 2 rinse and repeat. Like Cain says practice is works! Or you can fight him 1 on 1 when your Ng+7 with attack power maxed but I beat the game fast and I'm struggling with a lil health and attk pwr

@@benitodifrancesco7254 it will be lot of easier if you simply just HOLD L1, and timing only on the R1. As soon as you see the "block" move initiates, press R1. Pressing L1 and R1 separately is very easy to mess up the timing.

Him getting locked in door didn’t work for me so I spam shadow rush for the first 2 phases, but he, and my nerves get me at 3rd phase. Hope that stun lock still works. 🤞
