The story of a female shinobi that fought him and was Sculptor friend was a sad one..She was really strong,and she obviously bested Ape plunging her sword through his neck.But then she wasn't prepared for him resurrecting and he killed her and ate her.. @PunkZombie13003 жыл бұрын
@@alalmalal A bit late but most likely the Japanese used a gender-neutral pronoun to keep things ambiguous. Since English doesn't really have a proper gender-neutral pronoun (I mean we have they, which works just fine, don't know why translators never use that) the translators will usually resort to "he" unless directed otherwise, or if the term is more likely to refer to a woman. Something similar happened in Bloodborne, with the Old Hunter Bone's description saying the Hunter it came from was a he, while the Japanese kept it neutral, and it's almost certainly Lady Maria's. I'm guessing different people translated the items and the Sculptor's dialogue, which is why originally there was a discrepancy between the two when referring to Kingfisher. Most likely his original dialogue kept it vague and then she was revealed to be a woman after we receives the whistle.

Something interesting I noted about the malcontent ring was that when used in the battle against the demon of hatred, it causes him to wail and shudder at its sound. I think this could mean that Orangutan and the King Fisher were lovers. I have a theory that her death was so impactful on Orangutan that it caused him the flames of hatred to burn inside him, prompting Isshin to cut off his arm.

Sekiro is such an incredible game that they managed to use the same imagery, roughly the same name, and exactly the same story arc for two different characters, and you wouldn't even notice it. One that could talk more about Tomoe, Takeru, the Divine Dragons of the West and more on the immortality stuff; we gotta be fighting Tomoe there is so much surrounding her cause she is essentially like the Artorias of this game, just imagine her lighting dancing fight style. The 2nd that could expand more on Sculptore, Kingfisher, maybe something on Dogan the original creator of the prosthetic and possibly Sculptures inner rage Shura, like Shura could be this crazy Buddhist apparition that could potentially be some crazy fight against some multiple armed Buddhist God. Man I’m imagining the final fights right now along with their names popping out like Divine Tomoe, Dragon of Light and God of Wrath...Shura.

Kingfisher's ring is named malcontent. In the description its said her sound could be heard until it stopped. She probably kept whistling from the ape's tummy until she died. @SixHolyStrings5 жыл бұрын
So I'm not sure what to make of the guardian ape second fight, though your explanation is very clean and seems to make sense (that in its dying breath it calls out to a mate and that's why when you find it headless in its burrow another shows up) but the strange thing is I beat the guardian fight round one with the mortal blade on my back, killed the centipede with it, and got the immortality severed achievement along with the standard boss fight completed achievement. Then the headless one still shows up later in the burrow and I got no achievement for beating them, while still needing to kill the headless one with the mortal blade... since I've only completed the game once I just figured there must be two, but now with the context of the sword belonging to Kingfisher and people getting the immortality severed achievement on the second fight, I'm not so sure.. was this a narrative oversight but From? Seems unlikely knowing their track record with lore consistency, perhaps they knew players could get the mortal blade before going to sunken valley but still wanted them to have to fight both as it's a great fight, that seems more likely. But how can this be explained? My best guess is that maybe another centipede in the stagnant waters of the watering hole crawled into the gaping neck hole of the deceased guardian ape, but does this suggest centipedes can reanimate the dead, or simply the recently deceased? Kind of opens up a big can of worms if you'll pardon the pun.

i just realized that the old woman in the building up the big stairs from the flames of hatred/gyoubu oniwa boss arena, the one where you first meet tengu of ashina, doesn't change her dialogue in NG+. no matter how many new games you do, once you've killed the demon in one of the playthroughs, she always gives you the same post-demon dialogue, even though by this point in the game the demon doesn't even exist. isn't that weird? every other character's dialogue resets in NG+ as far as i can tell. obviously most stuff carries over into NG+ in all of these games, but it's for the sake of gameplay. it was never actually a canonical part of the story where you're like... repeating history and some characters are aware of the future. it could be a bug, of course. or just some unintentional thing. but how do you do something like that on accident, the whole world basically resets, it doesn't seem like you'd have to reset every NPC's dialogue individually, one by one. so the fact that every NPC's dialogue resets, except this one particular NPC, kinda suggests that it's intentional. which is pretty crazy, adds a whole new layer to the lore, for me at least
@ToxicallyMasculinelol5 жыл бұрын
by the way i'm really liking all of these videos, there's not enough sekiro lore content out there. maybe people are just waiting for more shit to be discovered. but i've seen a lot of people complain that sekiro's lore is not as deep or interesting as dark souls' or bloodborne's, and i totally disagree with that. there is sooo much lore in this game and it's all pretty fascinating to me. anyway great videos but i gotta really strongly recommend using a de-esser filter on your voiceover. like the sharp "s" sounds hurt my ears if i don't turn the volume way down. i know it's a built-in effect in adobe premiere and pretty sure it's in every version of izotope RX. i haven't tried many other video/audio editing software so i'm not sure what else has it. but if you use premiere it's really simple to fix. if not i think you could probably find a third-party plugin for whatever software you use. otherwise i think you can sort of recreate a de-esser filter using bandpass or EQ, but you'd have to look that up because i don't know exactly the parameters you need

the wistling finger can be used in the sculptor's (Demon of Hatred) bossfight. It stuns him.

Good god damn, some of the comments in here are toxic. I'm sorry you have to deal with this, dude. KZbin used to be a place where people would just make content for fun, but there are some serious entitlement issues now with people demanding AAA production values from someone who works on stuff in their spare time, and getting pissy when content doesn't meet their exact standards. Keep doing what you're doing. Keep having fun with it.

The Narcissist Cookbook hey bud thanks for the support - appreciate your kind words. That’s how it is when you put yourself out there, but a lot of it is constructive feedback, which I take on board to try and improve. Thanks again and hope you enjoyed the content!

So maybe the Sculptor also became immortal by drinking the water of the Valley.
@weirdreportt5 жыл бұрын
He never drink one. The Sculptor is also the Demon of Hatred. It's the reason why Ishin cut his arm in the first place, fearing he might became Shura (also known as Asura, God of War / Demon Warrior / Demon of Hatred)

Anyone have any idea what's that weird growth around the ape's neck? Looks like calcified fungus or bones, I wonder what it really is. Packing/glue to pad around the neck to keep its head from falling off due to the sword already stuck in its neck?

I always thought that the sculptor was the shinobi known as monkey.
@tsarcastic37225 жыл бұрын
I don't think there's much evidence that the Nodachi in the Guardian Ape is from the female shinobi. Based on its length, slow swing time, general cumbersomeness and inability to be wielded in any confined spaces it wouldn't be a good weapon for a shinobi, and especially would be ill-suited to use training in the Sunken Valley. The blade is so cumbersome it was rarely sheathed or carried on the person of the samurai outside of battle. Traditionally the weapon was used by heavily armored samurai, who used it much in the way greatswords are used in Dark Souls, often in an attempt to kill horses to counter mounted samurai. It just doesn't fit with the little we know about her style, and the style of the shinobi in general in this world.

Hey man, really enjoying your lore vidoes. But you could definitely increase the quality of your audio. I would youtube some compression and VST plug ins that you can use. I have no idea what mic, you are using, but it sounds like its really lacking mids/low frequency. Compression would do you a world of good.

I noticed a bit of a discrepancy regarding the gender of Kingfisher: in the sound byte, Orangutan refers to "his ring" but the item description refers to a "woman"
@KeysLockhart5 жыл бұрын
Maybe she was trying to appear as a male. Mulan style
@aberrantmeows48745 жыл бұрын
@@KeysLockhart Maybe! Could be interesting. I'm really hopped on the fact that the Sculptor refers to a "ring," but the item picture and description shows a hollowed finger. If I had to guess, it sounds like there was a translation error. Either that, or Kingfisher was wearing some dead lady's hand. Only Miyazaki knows

In a way the sculpture and the immortal guardian ape are similar. Both representing primates and both losing their partners.
