I have a suggestion here. the 2 spinny twirly guys are back to back. if you focus the one on the right and you sprint towards him, the other one will see you but you can still deathblow him (the one on the right), use the blood smoke and deathblow the other one and you usually get a ton of xp plus 2/3 scrap irons. then you can proceed with the rest. try it out!

Whirlwind is perfect whenever many enemies attack at once, especially that it one shots dogs after your attack is at 4 I think.

If you sneak kill one of the guys in hats outside the door and use the ninjitsu blood explosion on him you can then death blow the other one for massive skill points/sen/upgrade items then just rest and repeat

You get a lot more XP in a much shorter time by travelling to the Gun Fort in the Sunken Valley, then turning and going behind you and backstabbing the ghillie suit guy. He gives you about 300 XP per time u kill him and he's right next to the Idol so u can kill him then Rest then rinse and repeat for extremely fast XP gain

Bottomless hole, after the headless guardian ape area are two ghost monks. They give 650xp each & takes about 25 seconds each go. So that's 2600xp per minute. Bonus drops of Yashariku's sugar. For Sen & gold farming I use Mibu Village, starting from the Water Mill idol and make your way backwards through Mibu village. Easier to take out the Bell troll with a deathblow from above. Brilliant for emblems & each kill is 87xp. On average you kill one villager every 3to4 seconds and there are a lot of them, mostly one hit kills

A better farm that is even shorter: go to dilapidated temple then talk to fujioka and he will tell you about "the new ones" in the ashina castle then all the spirit idols will be unavailable (due to the lockdown) but get to the one at the stairway gate. There will be red ones that are hard to beat but mostly, just deflect their attacks and fight them 1v1 (2v1 wont hurt but 3v1 is instant doom)

My farm from here, pop a Gaichin sugar, sneak the strawhat, blood smoke, sneak the other, wall hug, pot throw the 3rd and sneak deathblow. Then sneak into the temple and merc all the husks. You spend 1 sugar and a couple emblems, but gain quite a bit of exp and gold.

This is actually mid game dude... In the real late game right before the dragon sanctuary there are 3 elites with 0 poise very easy to defeat. You can do in 90 seconds for 1060 exp + around 100 sen + some good material each

You know, right as you run out the entrance gate (where the run starts), if you run full speed directly in a straight line towards the two double-bladed naginata guys in the straw outfits, you can get a backstab deathblow on the one who’s looking away before they can turn around. Earlier in the game, when I first reached the top of Senpou Temple, that was one way I quickly farmed XP- just run out, backstab one of them (since they’re worth a considerable amount of XP on their own, especially early on!), dash straight back in to rest at the idol, respawning/resetting them, & repeat. It only takes a few seconds with such close proximity to an idol & each one of them was worth 186 XP… Not bad when you only needed 1500 or 2000 XP to get a skill point. 😁 Kind of cheese, but farming is a chore & the worst part of these games IMO so I think it’s cool when they make it quick & easy so you can just be done with it & continue the game. Anyway, that enemy is only a few steps out of your way, & it’d be an extra 186 XP per run, plus whatever sen & items they drop. It does trigger the other naginata guy who is right beside him, so you may need to dodge out of the deathblow (although it just occurred to me that now that I have the blood-to-smoke ninjitsu skill I could just use that, backstab them both- or if I could alert them just right, maybe even all 3 of them, including the one who spawns around the corner of the building from the other 2-) & get that much more XP per run for the cost of a Spirit Emblem or two)… But when I would do my farming on the one double naginata guy I would experiment with the time expended vs XP gained from killing a few more of the enemies included in your strategy, so I know for a fact that even if you backstab the first double naginata guy, triggering the other one, you can still run over to backstab the first monk on the path to your run quickly enough to get away from double-bladed naginata guy #2. So it’s basically just a free additional 186 XP. ✌️✊🙏

A longer track, but fun way to fight all of them relatively easy, while facing that door, If you sprint to right while staying in the temple then take an immediate right there is another door leading outside. Immediately turn left, and you are behind the third straw hat guy. Backstab him and puppeteer him. Now you have your own straw hat guy to take on the other two

I found a good spot similar to this method in the upper antechamber sneak attack two guys for 765 exp and 107 sen and the idol is right down the stairs but it’s a bit late game when stronger opponents show up

Is farming in this game "needed" to progress? As in the difficulty jump gets so steep that farming is recommended.

I wouldn't say needed but it's based around how often you die. Your skill points reach thresholds and they're not lost so you'll be OK there. Gold doesn't work that way so if you somehow save up 10k and die a few times...5k, 2500, 1250, etc. Because of this farming is incredibly helpful.

SPOILERS: Way better method for actual end-game farming. Warp to the first bonfire in Fountainhead palace, pop a money balloon and insta kill all the flute people + some shinobi. 2-3k in 5min

You can stab the naginata guy that’s around the wall at the end of the temple and then throw a shard at one of the 2 guys standing side by side, have them walk towards you while you run back around through the temple and then backstab both of them

Theirs a better one when you are fight the owl father the frist time go to ashina castle - antechamber then kill the guy in next room and the assain in the next room .After you killed those guys jump down ( If thise is your frist time their will be a giant mini boss you'll need to kill) grapple to the ledge and eat a gachiin's sugar and kill one of the guys in red armor with a sneak attack.If you can kill the other red armor dude with a sneak attack or fight him ( their tough if you can't parry well) .Their should be another one (red armor dude)down the stairs fighting a spear guy sneak kill him if you can and Idol back.2807 exp + 292 sen+8 sprit emblems .Takes me about a minute to a minute and a half per run

JUST RUN END GAME ASHINA CASTLE! While it’s being stormed! find the idol in the castle. From the front gate you can back stab two enemies for 1,200+ XP and repeat. 10 times faster than this run.

Hey Cowboy, let me know what you think about this farm. Its really late game but i had some success with this when i was there. After Ashina Castle has been invaded by red hats', if you can make it to the Ashina Dojo idol you can actually sneak into the room and puppeteer the guy in the corner to help you fight the boss there. Once the boss is dead, you can continually rest at the idol and stealth kill that guy in the corner. It takes about 20-30 seconds to sneak in, kill him, rest and repeat. He gives 392xp and roughly 40sen (gold) per kill on first playthrough with no buffs.

Spirit emblems get more expensive the more you complete the story, it's not exactly a waste to buy them but if you want some money for other stuff you should farm spirit emblems.

Mibu village nets significantly more, in the same time you can get twice the gold. Exp is probably the same, possibly a little better. Emblems I have no idea, I have an unlimited amount essentially. Enemies keep spawning there, so you can kill 50 or so enemies in a small area and they net 87 exp and 10 gold before buffs.

I tried Mibu village but feel that the amount of bullshit there didn't make it worth it. Fuckers popping out of the ground and grabbing you constantly. Nah fuck that place.

You just have to kill them, they only pop out of the piles of Sakura petals, so run over the petals, turn around, whirlwind slash, and then you can farm freely for the next 15 minutes. I definitely get what you are saying, until I nailed down a method it was a nightmare. But I take in 1,300 gold in 10 minutes and 11,000 experience. Or, just kite the mob from underneath the tree and then never even kill those guys.

Your method is better if you are just straight grinding out, but a little work and Mibu village nets about 3x the exp and sen per the same time.

I do this farm but once I backstab the last big guy I run back to the Hall, you’ll see the double bladed guards walking back and you can backstab at least 2 of em for guaranteed posture candy and about 187 CP

The big thing is you NEED to spend your money as you get it, otherwise the only way to make big sums for certain purchases is either farming or popping a bunch of money bags at once. I've seen items for 5000, 3000, 1800, etc for farming is very helpful.

I think I have found an even better method, go to the Fountainhead Palace Sanctuary shrine, equip the gold fan thingy (I forget its name) and use that once on every one of the three enemies; for reference it gives loot equivalent to killing them, without them dieing. After that kill them. They are shockingly easy end-game enemies that give a ridiculously high amount of exp, money, and end-game materials.

So the enemies respawn in the same place after killing them welp not interested and thats not the only thing that makes me not interested lets jus say this people say they played for 30 + Hrs and they still have the same outfit sword etc so the open world is basically tied to the story mode well of course it is but my point is the enemies are placed in certain parts of the map because its a story based open world game they dont get randomly placed there in the same spot when u boot up the game and even after u kill them yu run a circle and they are in the same spot again not worth it ill stick to shadow of war

Sekiro also has TERRIBLE AI, hitboxes, tracking, attack cancelling/interception and most of all a herky jerky camera that could give a russian tank driver a seizure your weapon can kill an armored foot soldier in 2 hits but you have to chip away at old lady boss characters with dozens of strikes to get one of multiple necessary "deathblows" because they clearly SHOEHORNED some "souls nerd" mechanics into the good ol TENCHU infrastructure in an immersion breaking fantasy that Buffs your blade from deadly Katana to Harry Potter magic wand depending on the whim of the developer the combat is mostly scripted... if you use an unexpected attack even with perfect timing and distancing it can often times pass right through the enemy leaving you open for a counter making hitting them more dangerous than running and dodging if you don't use the expected scripted attack pattern The game plays more like a scripted QuickTime event than actual athletic contest like old school classics like Tekken or Bushido Blade I can see why nerds like this kind of contest because once you learn the dance maneuvers you look like a pro even though you're just typing out a pre-arranged set of inputs like a secretary rather than having to react to a series of attacks in real time real world stragety It's totally natural to get frustrated because the strategies they expect you to use are pretty ridiculous IE stand and block when the giant bull is charging you or throw firecrackers at a 7 ft tall murderous Samurai I think they would have been a lot better off if they just made another tenchu and another Souls game rather than trying to shoehorn them into one confusing package but considering how lame video games have become since the microtransaction monster showed up I can see why this sloppy herky-jerky mess loaded with immersion breaking silly animations and childish characters won game of the year
