Sekiro: Sword Saint Isshin (Simple Parry Strat Practice, AP12, NG, No Hit, No Charm, Demon Bell)

Just like the title says, here's good footage (no PS4 recording bugs) of one of my practice fights. Trying to find a simple parry method for Sword Saint AP1. I still use my old strat to damage his vit until his posture bar turns a bit red/yellow.
I still need work on parrying that bump+stab in Phase 1. That Phase 2 circular charged attack, I think I can close the distance and jump on him, if I do it early enough. I also thought of dodging his vertical spear slams, but I seem to be doing fine parrying it and dodging afterwards.
Once I do this 3 times in a row, maybe I'll start attempting AP1 again. I actually got to Phase 2 multiple times, and using this method, surprisingly, Phase 1 took longer than in my AP1 vit-focused fight. Not too thrilled.

There was no hesitation! 👏 Yes, a defensive change of pace during 3rd phase. While I won with pure luck, but walking towards there 🙂!

its just fo frusterating to fight two phases again ... common from soft after 5 or 6 wins they should take geni out ...

So when he does that jump/spear swing move, do you simply dodge into it? Is that the trick?

This practice vid is somewhat obsolete, I ended up using a much simpler strat on my 2nd Attack Power 1 fight, but yeah I still dodge into it. It allows me to stay close enough to interrupt his next move once he lands.

I don't have a practice video, so here's the actual complete AP1 fight. The first part of phase 2 is mostly about doing vit damage, so if you want the parries, skip over to when he's at half health. That's when I switch to parries. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnW3i5h_rqhpn8U
