Select Through Transparent Texture Pattern Overlays in Adobe Illustrator

Wow so useful! Does this work for groups too?

Not with the selection tool because holding command also changes to the Direct Selection tool, so you are thenselecting just the objects inside the groups. I just tried it with the Group Selection tool, and it works to select the group. It's a little tricky, you have to click and move the group all at once, or click and then click on an edge or center point to move the group.
