Thank you for always explaining everything so carefully and completely; I really appreciate your videos. I just wish I had an Ipad so I could use Fresco like you do too; that looks like so much fun being able to draw straight onto the screen like that. One day I'll have one too and I'll watch all of those videos too lol.

This feature is not on the iPad, you can use shapebuilder to cut shapes to look intertwining - that’s a workaround.

Definitely appreciate this one! Very clunky settings but the tool is a welcomed addition to illustrator for sure. The properties panel adjustments are great to know about. Styling these was such a pain. Now it should be a little easier. Thanks!

As I remember, single click placement of dimensions weren’t possible before - or else I wasn’t using it properly. Can you set a layer not to print or do you have to resort to switching it off? Asking for an Autocad user.😂

Double click layer to find options, I can’t remember the name of the checkbox, but you will see the layer name italicized once it’s non-printing.

Make sure you have the latest version of Illustrator, and you have type selected.

I’m having trouble exporting to Adobe illustrator. I keep getting an error message saying export failed. I also noticed when I export to the Adobe illustrator app the resolution is scaled from 300ppi to 72ppi. Do you have any tips on fixing this problem? 😅

I occasionally get that error too, and recently there has been an issue with Fresco documents that contain placed images failing to send. You can try removing images, or as a last resort, export as a PDF and remove the clipping masks inside. Also, you might be looking at the "raster effects" resolution setting, which is different than resolution. Whatever you send to Illustrator should arrive with the same dimensions as the original art. I've just installed the Creative Cloud Desktop app on a new installation of Windows and my Creative Cloud Files have appeared as though nothing has changed.

This change did not affect Creative Cloud documents (.aic, .psdc files) only synced files, so if you have documents and libraries you will see them in the CC desktop app.

It still works, but you may not have the pattern fill selected. You can go to the Appearance panel and click on the fill to select it.

Hello! I'm having trouble making small pictures... All my pictures, once I download them, come out the same size. I can pull on the corners and make it very big, but not small. When I drag corners now it just stops at a certain size. Hope that makes sense! Thanks!

Hi, I'm sorry, but I don't know why that would happen with images in Illustrator on the iPad-unless you need to zoom in more as the image gets smaller to continue scaling it.

@@LauraCoyle Thankyou! I make the picture tiny, download it, and it still comes out the same size. Like there’s a standard size and it won’t make it any different way. It might be because it’s the iPad application. If I try on my computer it might help.

Use global swatches, you can update all art that has a global fill color applied. Apply a global swatch to the art, then select the swatch, then double-click on the fill in the toolbar to open the color picker, and all the art attached to that pink swatch changes as you move the cursor in the color picker. But, this is not how you edit the global swatch (I used the color picker just for the video) to edit the global swatch, double click and use the sliders in the pop-up dialog.

Handy tutorial, thank you! Since I can't get Fresco to open a copy in Illustrator on the desktop, I found a workaround... Open in Illustrator on the iPad, save from there and then I can open on the desktop after that. Doing it this way eliminates the empty clipping mask layers. Whoo hoo!

That's a great workaround - sometimes the creative cloud connection (I think) is glitchy and I can't get it to send to my desktop either. Sending it to the iPad creates that cloud document, so it can be opened wherever. yay!

After exporting to pdf on your iPad, how do you get it to illustrator on the desktop? There's supposed to be a way to go directly from fresco to illustrator but it absolutely doesn't work. It fails every time.

Since this video, there is a direct way in Fresco: "Open a Copy" and sometimes it fails - but when it works it solves the clipping mask issue. If you were exporting a PDF, which I've had to do because of another recent bug in Fresco that wouldn't let me send a file with images, you can use this video to help with removing the clipping masks that come along with the PDF.

So after you vectorize (Image Trace?) you have to expand the tracing. Once expanded, you can use the Magic Wand tool to select by color. Double click the Magic Wand to turn the tolerance all the way down to zero. Click the art you want to change, it selects everything that color and you can then change it.

But when im trying to create an object and try copying the colour from an existing picture the colour is not showing up on my screen however in layers box i can see the colour is being filled but it is not reflecting on my screen also when i close and reopen the illustrator before i open the window on which i had the object created even there i can see area which i wanted to be color has been filled with color but when i open the window it does not show anything. How do i fix this?
