🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation: 00:08 🌟 *Introduction to Selection Rules in Spectroscopy* - Discussing the selection rules for electronic spectroscopy in single and multiple electron systems. - Initial focus on the change in spin angular momentum (Δs = 0) and its implications. 02:14 🔍 *Spin-Orbit Coupling and Quantum Numbers in Spectroscopy* - Exploration of spin-orbit coupling, especially significant in heavy elements. - Detailed look at quantum numbers: the rule of Δl (orbital angular momentum) and the introduction of quantum number J (spin-orbit coupling). DeltaL should not be equal to 0 we can't have transition between two states with the same L isn't it?

We can't have delta l = 0 (little l for just one electron), but we can have delta L (big L for multiple electrons), so long as we do not go from L = 0 to L = 0.

Does not mention anything relating to the parity, even->odd, odd->even (ALLOWED) and even->even, odd->odd (FORBIDDEN)
