I am older, but this song makes me cry. Having been through a bad break-up myself when I was much younger, I can identify with this song. I hate it that Selena, and other younger people, have to go through this too. Quite honestly, you can put it behind you and live your life fully afterwards, but you never forget it. At the time this song came out, my 25 year old daughter was going thru a bad break-up. We both cried at this song.

Edit: One thing I love about this video though is how the visuals show her going through the different emotions she must've been feeling. The anger, sadness, the false laughter, to finally content. It really puts together the struggle to move on from something is toxic nicely.

Justin and her broke up a few years ago, but this is definitely about him. And this video was shot entirely on the iPhone 11 and they had her do like 3-4 emotions with every performance for this video, including anger, happiness, and paranoia.

I’m not saying it was all him; there were two in that relationship. But it ended swiftly; he met someone new, and boom they were engaged. And seemingly happy. Once you get through the haze of grief, you begin to see clearly - and she let him have it with both barrels! It’s cathartic, really, to be able to get it all out there. Most of us have been there at one time or another...bless her, she needs a good man!
