Hi, this was very helpful, a nice description of spoon theory. For self care this week, after the holidays, I’m going to drastically limit my social activities and do active resting. Thanks again!

Was there any medications you took during your long haul that helped at all or supplements?

All of our Long Covid presentations are different so this may not be the same for you... But I have a LOT of MCAS so H1 & H2 Antihistamines (I think they are seeing that most can benefit from those but check with your PCP), also mast cell stabilizer which in my case was Ketitofen, LDN for the chronic fatigue (but start low 0.5 or less and build up very slowly with physician support) other mitochondrial supports like CoQ10, PQQ, Methylene Blue (double check with your doc this stuff can't be taken with some very common meds). Also my journey with Triple Therapy anticoagulants is documented here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJPLi2B8epJ4fpYsi=4uNrl2iq6B0Rx30S. Also as someone living with POTS as part of my Dysautonomia Electrolytes have been my lifeline (and for about 2 years I also wore compression tights but didn't need as my ANS stabilized with SSP and Polyvagal strategies).

The only thing i dont completely agree with is putting more stuff on others in the home. Yes, people should be there to help when the patient has no more energy to spare, but this can also lead to a cycle of enabling. And no human deserves to be a live in nurse unless they are willing to do it.

The thing about asking others for help is that assuming that other is 18, it’s their responsibility to say no if it’s not within their capacity to do it. I’m not sure what you mean by enabling. If I have zero ATP to do a physical, emotional or cognitive task, someone else doing it for me is just practical… or alternatively it doesn’t get done. No enabling about that…

I have had long covid for 4 years not 3 (March 2020). I was about 95% recovered at the beginning of 2023. If you watch my video from a few weeks ago it goes into this all I believe kzbin.info/www/bejne/nJPLi2B8epJ4fpYsi=KrFLcX6tlMUZxOB7. I started the triple therapy end of May 2023 and stepped back maybe 50%. Went from running 2x a week, strength work 2x a week and swimming to barely getting out of bed again. Finished the treatment October and have been trying to get back to 95% since. No one who claims they are running 50k again actually had long covid. 95% means I can’t do most things but being a competitive athlete is not one of them…

@@sallyriggs465 Ok I will watch that videos. It amazing how everyone reacts differently towards Covid.because our immune system is different. The CDC says that Covid, Flu and RSV cases infection is rising rapidly during the holidays season unfortunately ! I have been very fortunate not to get Covid and I have been successful in avoiding over 4 years because I take EXTRA precautions than most people while in public! Pray that you will be back at 100 percent soon!🙏🏽❤️

"Living with" i find triggering. how about "recovering from". sounds less permanent.

Absolutely I don’t believe Long covid is permanent. But sadly the fact of the matter is that even if you only live with it for a week you still have to live with it. And for most of us it’s been more than a week…. A big part of the Long covid recovery journey is learning to live with it while holding the hope of the recovery. All the time we “fight it” we waste precious energy we could be using for recovery.

@@briechilli4496 living with long Covid is depressing, this video is just realistic in my opinion. I do agree with the idea of not doing or outsourcing as many energy consuming tasks as possible
