Self-Care Tips from the Pros
"Cupping: Self-Treatment for Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Bicipital Tendinitis" with Dr. Joi Edwards
Being a massage therapist is a physically demanding job. We use our hands, fingers, arms, and forearms to help address our clients’ muscle tension and pain. Sometimes, in the process, we inadvertently injure ourselves. Carpal tunnel syndrome and bicipital tendinitis are some of the top injuries massage therapists suffer from. Learn how to quickly and easily self-treat both conditions using silicone cups and massage.
Dr. Joi Edwards is both a licensed massage therapist and a licensed physical therapist. She holds a bachelor’s degree in parks and recreation, a doctorate degree in physical therapy, and has a specialization in orthopedic manual therapy. She has extensive experience in the orthopedic field with both injuries and surgical conditions. She works full time as a physical therapist, owns her own continuing education company (Owlchemy Education) and successfully fuses the science of orthopedics with the art and intuition of massage, bridging both worlds together with the magic of silicone cups!
