A girl got killed on camera in my city a few days ago and the attacker yanked her head back and held her hair with his left hand and stabbed her multiple times with his right hand finally slitting her throat. In this situation pushing her head against the armed shoulder was out of question. Also her movement was restricted due to the position. How do we women with longer hair and a smaller frame than most men protect ourselves in this situation??
@kramerkised5 ай бұрын
Or if one of the hands is pinned to the wall by the attacker, we can't get the two hand grip. Then what?

Way better than what I learn in a self defense club But still in some of your options you stay really vulnerable to switch arm. I think you must avoid this switch, or else you screwed.

Carrying weapon is probably the better thing to do. But you still need close combat technique, just to get the possibility of transitioning to your weapon I guess cane is the best : it's already in your hand.

Officer Jonah Hernandez was recently butchered in the neck and murdered by an assailant wielding a kitchen knife in much the same manner demonstrated in this video. If you are a current LEO or a civilian with a stable mental status and strong stomach, the body cam vis on Reddit. The video is shockingly graphic and traumatizing to watch. It drives home the importance of learning to defend knife attacks.

Attacker would need to grab the knife with the other hand while you have grip on the knife hand
@Justmedoingmything10 ай бұрын
Good stuff but I wouldn’t want the tip of a knife or blade anywhere near my armpit. I would rather attempt a transition & risk losing control than have a knife tip in my armpit as there is a very vulnerable, very important large artery right there. It is actually listed as a major target by “knife fighters” due to its location & vulnerability.

@@staysafemartialarts Okay all good, so good luck then to anyone trying this technique against a determined attacker with real intent. I have always been taught never underestimate your attacker, and to always assume he is stronger, faster and more skilled than you.

@@glennrobinson7193not sure your issue with this technique? Just one way to control/isolate the attacking arm. Also taught by some of the top instructors around.

@@staysafemartialartsI just sent you a rather lengthy reply but the sinister KZbin in its infinite wisdom must have deleted it. So now I will abbreviate it. The weapon is only a tool. The real weapon is the attacker's brain (his intent).. Shut his brain down by injuring him. E.g. stab his eyes with hand held rigidly palm facing down using tips of the fingers. The way I see it, the advice of getting in a wrestling match for the tool is ill advice, possibly dangerous.
@staysafemartialarts7 ай бұрын
@@glennrobinson7193again i dont deny that. I encourage you to go train with say ryan hoover, aaron jannetti, or craig douglas. Goal is to stop the initial threat (in this case the stabbing) and then you apply as much damage as ya can immediately. Just didnt discuss that part in this
