I have become a very confident " Senior " , ( disabled Vet. also ! ) when I have my Cane Masters self defense Cane. I actually use two different types of canes. Cane Masters is Hickory and the other is an aluminum Cane ; adjustable length. I train with both , and I can easily defend myself with either one. An excellent weapon that doesn't look threatening at all. Great video Sensei , ! Thanks.

Matthew thank you for your service. I too am disabled, but as a police officer, and retired in 1991. I had five left knee surgeries. God bless. Doug.

@@matthewhandville3418 Matthew, i have so much respect for our men and women of the US Military. If i hadn't been in college studying Law Enforcement, i would have enlisted, during the Viet Nam era.. Whether you were Delta Force or a cook, you were part of the team effort, that makes our military the greatest in the world. My daughter enlisted in the USAF and was picked Security Forces. I shed a tear of pride watching her march in formation, of her Graduation, at Lakland Air Force Base. Again, thank you my friend.

I thank Your daughter for her service . Like I said before , I want to be a Policeman , instead I joined the Army and became a Cook . Now , when I got out of the service , I spent a decade in corporate security and local government security . I thought about pursuing a law enforcement career , but carrying a fire arm became a very dangerous thing .I got my love for the Martial arts in high-school .And I love weapons that don't appear to be weapons..

Wonderful videos, Matt--thanks for telling it like it is in these crazy times, where the criminals are treated better than the victims! The question that comes to mind is, what if the thug tries to take the cane from you? Any techniques to help avoid this? Thanks.

Missed the live, will watch now. Also, can you show how to do a proper sit up? And or other exercises that are good for the core?

Hey Matt, sorry i missed class. The City had Yearly Inspection of Rental Properties and they just finished. Mine passed with flying colors, but unfortunately it interfered with class, As i was watching it, there seemed ti be an issue with the video. Have a good weekend. Stay safe. Doug.

I need to follow your example and continue prepping. I started a few months ago, but when i contracted pneumonia and then Covid, things were put on the backburniner. I am back on track working out again. The biggest issue is rebuilding my cardio strength due to the effects on my lungs. But each day is getting better and i am getting stronger. Matt, it is your "never give up" attitude that is pushing me through on the days i work out, instead of sitting on my butt. Thank you so much my friend. God bless, Doug.

Hapkido style?

Not hapkido. More of a blend of escrima and thrusts from bayonet training in the military
