Great video. I'm in process of becoming a broker through Opwdd. Do you know any NYS brokers who move and work under another state's version of opwdd. Thinking of moving in a few years but would like to continue working as a broker when that comes up. Thanks Again 👍

I have a ton of questions. Who helps the parent look for services for the child? Is it the CM or broker?

Thank you for your question; it can be a collaborative search (exploration) with the parent, participant, broker and care manager. Sometimes, for self direction participants, the fiscal intermediary (FI) may recommend programs that other participants are active in with approved vendors, with that FI. Having said that, parents and self advocates, generally explore programs that they are interested in, independent of the broker and care manager for self direction. That said, if you have a care manager or a broker that is knowledgeable in programs and services within the community, that can help.
