@Ron Coleman Well for hiking you usually go on one day trip so something like some cereal bars is enough (cause usually breakfest and dinner can be eaten at home or at the hotel or restaurant or wherever you are). And for camping? Depends if on foot or in trailor but to me for both is stove and cooking ingredients simply better option.

1st bowl--Spicy FRESH Vegies. Freeze dried with dry noodles in a plastic shrink wrapped Styrofoam bowl. Fresh!!! PS. In America we have the 5sec rule if you drop food on the floor. Or if nobody has a good view of the food loudly proclaim " boy...im glad that freeze dried potatoe fell on that napkin. phew that was close. disaster diverted". Free advice from me. I slowed down the playback speed at the parts where you sped up the video to make sure you didn't do any trick editing! Gotta make sure you really let it cook for 15 minutes!
