really wish these guys would spend more time about the actual process of connecting the bar to the bag. All these videos are 99% riding and bag review and 1% safety techniques and actual process. Title of the video should be "Me Kitesurfing at a beach and a quick review of my beach bag".

Enough reviews how to properly self launch/land your kite.. just use secondary leash tie it up and clip it arround the chickenloop… atleast this is safer cause I’m launching most of the times like a water start on beach.. but had same thing happend to me a line arround the tip and kite started spinning

Interesting, thanks for sharing. I see some potential as the sail and wetsuit could go in the bag, go sailing and leave just the bag on the beach so that nothing gets stolen.

I definitely use it to carry stuff to the beach, and I leave things in the bag while I ride.

move to foil kites, get rid of the bag, and the extra leash/rope and the pump. 3 birds in one shot. ha and get better wind range, and lighter kite...

I’m super interested in them, but haven’t had a chance to try one. The Peaks or the Hybrid seem really interesting for foiling. Got any recommendations?

Another con - seems like you'd need to put a fair amount of sand in it to be heavy enough to hold your kite. (time and work on beach instead of being in the water 🌊)
@erbartlett Жыл бұрын
It was faster to fill it up than screwing in a sand anchor, so not too bad. Not as quick as just self launching by walking the back edge into the wind

Most easy thing is to ride , self lunch and self landing its never fast and easy.... been using kite bag and ikea bag since day 1, protip: grab a stick and stick in the sand along side the bag so its dosent drag the bag easely
@kristiqntachev7139 Жыл бұрын
Actually pretty awesome! I would love to try it out probably not with this bag but a different one that i can purchase from the local shop. I am thinking also about IKEA bags probably they will be really durable also. Thanks for the video!
@erbartlett Жыл бұрын
The person who gave me the idea suggested an ikea bag. I couldn't find one, and I was a little nervous that it wouldnt be strong enough, but I just had a person comment on the facebook post saying that they use an ikea bag too. One important thing to do is to bury it in the sand if the wind is higher.

what if we make a kite out from IKEA bag. I bet it would beat ALUULA :) good content i like your enthusiasm and i dislike your rushed setup and crashlaunch haha :) keep em coming!

hahaha, great idea. trust me, i dislike crashing me thin single strut into sharp needle like bushes in the woods :) being a kiter / youtuber / dad can be distracting, and that leads to basic mistakes that create risk. the only reason i share these humiliating mishaps is the small hope that it will help someone else avoid the same stupid mistake!

I’ve used ikea bags, but mostly just kite bags in a pinch.

I use the IKEA abg and kite vag since day 1😂

I just got my heads on an ikea bag, and I need to do a comparison. It’s definitely thinner than this red bag I’m using, which makes me nervous, but I’ve heard about a lot of people using them!
@j.miguel61936 ай бұрын
Yeah bro, as long the bar is on the sand the kite makes not strength whatsoever... just put a tree stick to anchor it more to the sand 👍
@renatoamorimtorres79156 ай бұрын
I dont recomend. Tried this with exactly same bag today. I filled the bag with sand almost to the top. I tried with 12 m kite and the wind was not more than 20km/h. Not much pull at all. The kite selflaunch before i could reach thr anchor. The bag with sand got dragged a few meters in the meantime. Even you can make it quite heavy with tons of sand it still does not stop it from being dragged
@erbartlett6 ай бұрын
It’s definitely not fool proof. You have to put the bag in a hole/ depression to keep it from sliding. I’ve never had it slide and I’ve gone out it in higher winds
@renatoamorimtorres79156 ай бұрын
I will try again another day. I will also use another anchor for the leash so if it get dragged it depower the kite
@renatoamorimtorres79156 ай бұрын
I was also thinking on attaching the sand anchor to those two small loops at the bottom of the bag

Look into flysurfer hybrid kite for foiling! You will never need any bags

I’ve seen them and would love to try one! What size do you ride and what foil setup do you have?

@@erbartlett 9.5m and I can go anywhere under 15kn of wind. Armstrong 1550 v2 front wing. This is my first foil kite and I love it so much, best kite ever had. I have some videos

I wouldn't trust this in a strong wind.
@erbartlett Жыл бұрын
I only self launch if I dont have a person with me, and I'd probably be fine using this up to 25 or 30mph. That being said, I'd use it in a backup in case of an emergency and there's one one there to land me. Given how much weight it can hold, and the fact that it would drag rather than get ripped out of the ground, I'd use it before I use a sand anchor.

I have used this technique for a few years and also in strong winds and it works perfectly and is very safe. BUT you have to really load the bag (completely full). So now I bring a small shovel with me. Because the hardest part is filling this damn bag.
